  1. agreed 9.0 as is 9.2 after C&P There appears to be a couple of minor tear(s) that will hold the book back from anything higher
  2. Those finger smudges and color rub are ingrained C&P probably not worth it 7.5
  3. I’ve always found this book tough to grade due to the variation in color from copy to copy. Water damage seems quite moderate on both wraps and I think this will keep the grade down. Without the water damage, the book appears as is to be in the vg/fn +/- range. The water damage drops it at least a grade imho into the vg (4.0 ) range. The “spot” appears to be some type of inadvertent pen/marker stain? Do the pages appear brittle at all? If so, that would possibly drop the grade even lower.
  4. Most likely blue with a notation on the label regarding the marker as it does not appear to have been done in an attempt to "restore" the copy in any way.
  5. The "hit" depends on the overall condition of the book. High grade book = very big hit Low grade book = very minimal/no hit
  6. I tend to grade conservative. The spine is the most apparent area of defect(s). Small tear lower edge BC. Some minor staining/foxing BC. Corners slightly soft. With that said, I would not be shocked if it came back a 7.5 or even 8.0 on a good day
  7. I lost my head for a moment but @Galen130 above snapped me back to reality
  8. Absolutely a roll of the dice. It could come back 9.4
  9. Can you take a look at that line from the same area on the inside front cover? If it’s a sharpie or pen, there’s a good chance it would have bled through the wrap and appear discolored from the inside out. You can also shine a flashlight and/or black light through the wrap in a dark room to see if it appears to stand out. It does seem suspicious…I’d like to check out some high res copies on Heritage to see if it’s just a faded area of ink on my monitor at home later tonight…anyone else have the ability to check out other copies?
  10. I would add that color touch is unlikely on a copy like this if you consider that the most likely area for ct is the spine and the spine clearly has areas of color break. A person looking to hide a defect would not do so on a copy like this given the extent of the defects.
  11. 6.0 as is May bump up to 6.5 or just appear as a nicer 6.0 with C&P Color touch too difficult to gauge with pics only
