  1. I always enjoyed Phantom Zone stories. Beautiful copy!
  2. Nice book, Dan. It was great running into you and your wife on Saturday. Too bad I couldn't stay or else we could have roamed the aisles of Comic-Con together. Got good prices on the three books I bought and Bob Storms of Hi-Grade Comics threw in the new OSPG in the purchase. He's a cool guy and the GI Combat 92 is another great addition to my war collection. Gonna try to get a room at next year's show. Later
  3. This great thread could use a bump. Today's purchase at Comic-Con International in San Diego: Superboy 86 containing the first appearance of Pete Ross and the 4th Legion of Superheroes.
  4. Very slight miscut but I'm still very pleased with the book and the grade. I'm a big fan of D. Sprang and his covers.
  5. nice copy (thumbs u You're darn tootin' it's nice. That a very sweet book.
  6. Finally found a nice-looking mid-grade copy of this book:
  7. One of my favorite non-superhero titles: Mystery in Space 17 from Dec. 1953/Jan. 1954 Another pre-code MIS: #20 from June/July 1954 And an early post-code MIS from Aug/Sept 1954. One of my favorite covers because it's free of dialogue.
  8. That's a nice one! (thumbs u Fantastic book, Dale!! I just love that era and Batman Sci-Fi books. They're much underrated, yet they are well-loved by collectors both old and new. Congrats on the pickup.
  9. Great Books, Hepcat. Used to love reading those back in the day.
  10. Quite a comeback. I'd love to be able to read every one of those 96 pages!
  11. It's low grade, but it'll do. One of my favorite Flash covers of all time. Every day at 6:30 in the morn while I'm on the treadmill at the local "Y", I always think of this cover. When it came to The Flash the great Infatino was the master. Nice pickup, my friend.
  12. What a fantastic copy. The colors just pop. BTW, one of the very best covers of the SA. I've read the book many times and love the origin tale. Congrats!
  13. Vey nice! I was the underbidder on the Heritage #1 in 8.0 You know, I got confused over which day that one was going to come up. I thought it went low. It would definitely have sold for more if I had been on the ball. Edited to add: I think it was the same copy that sold on HA and then was available for offers on that site. If so, it sold for less than I offered through the site. I think the whole book is cool; not just the PQ. Presents very well for a 1.0.
  14. Recent purchase:
  15. Great book, Jimbo!! Congrats on the winning bid. I'm really appreciating the artwork on many of DC war titles.
  16. Here are a couple recently acquired war books and one not so recent unless you consider a purchase made in the mid-1990s recent: G.I. Combat 46 cover dated March 1957and the third DC issue of the iconic title: Here's the one I bought many moons ago. Wish how I could make the colors on the book match the colors of the scan. The colors of the book are really much sharper. Anyway, here they are:
  17. A fairly recent purchase. It's not HG so those HG collectors, look away and close your eyes or throw tomatoes at it but it's a pretty LG copy and it didn't cost a zillion bucks. Adventure Comics 256 in CGC 4.0 with OW/W PQ containing the origin of Green Arrow as drawn by the King:
  18. That's one heckava 3.0. I don't believe I've ever seen a CGC 3.0 look as beautiful as that copy. Never heard of the title but I wouldn't mind owning one.
  19. How much do you think this copy will fetch, Jeff? I'm thinking 18-20 grand!
  20. Beautiful book, Steve. But I'm totally flummoxed. You actually had a book slabbed. Wonderful copy!
  21. Presents well for a 3.5, Dan. Vivid and deep colors. GLWTS.
