I was looking for a $3.99 cover price or a facsimile barcode on the side and saw neither. I retract my previous statement about how CGC slabs are easy to open and I'm sorry for any insults I hurled at other people here for failing to see the bigger picture. Although, it may be possible that they can be opened without any flaws, using this youtube clown's videos as the crux of my arguments has already backfired. Also, they don't call me Foot in the Mouth Flanders for nothing :).

You and me both. I'm sure another youtuber will come along to show how it can be done flawlessly. I'll post their video when it shows up. The one posted above that's both on Instagram and Youtube seems a bit rushed and the guy could use better tools, maybe plastic instead of metal, to pry the case open.

That won't fix the issue at all. The main issue is that there are thousands of slabs out there that don't need to go back through CGC to have anything verified. It's easy to swap books and labels without ever having CGC involved in the grading process. If I have any duplicate comics within a certain grade range I can swap the labels from a universal book to a restored or qualified book. I then have a restored or qualified book in a case that shows no signs of tampering in a universal slab that I sell. I then take the universal book and sell it raw or have it graded by CGC or another grading company. The fact that the label is not attached to the inner well with the comic and that the slab is so easy to open without any signs of tampering, is the issue that you and others are failing to address. Once again CGC doesn't have to be involved in the process after the initial grading and no reholder is necessary for buyer's to be scammed. Even on higher end books, it appears easy to swap a replica with an original due to the lack of security features on an extremely poorly designed slab. I'm not sure how you're failing to see this, as it's a far bigger issue than a single seller committing fraud.

Amazon Prime's FALLOUT series starring Walton Goggins (4/12/24)

I was never into the games, but this looks like it's been done right, unlike the Last of Us, which was slow and boring.- 79 replies

I couldn't agree more. I purchased this without even noticing how awful he is. His presence annoyed me so much it's no longer in my collection.

What are you Reading now ..... other than comics ?
Flanders82 replied to jimjum12's topic in Comics General
I wasn't sure what to read so I picked up a few books at the library from their recommended picks. What a terrible decision. The first was The Librarianist by Patrick Dewitt. I'm familiar with the author and enjoyed The Sisters Brothers, but I wasn't able to make it past a third of this borefest. Camp Demascus by Chuck Tingle. I've never heard of the author and won't be reading any more of their books. The Bitter Past by Bruce Borgos. Kind of interesting since the story is based on a Russian spy that was trying to infiltrate a part of Eastern Nevada where they were testing atomic bombs, but ultimately not worth the read. -
I remember reading this somewhere before I made my decision. Ebay has so much fraud that I don't even care to deal with something that's slightly suspicious. The address he requested to send it to is in the same city. Maybe he changed it officially and I could've still sold it to him after the update, but it's still not worth the risk, especially since he only asked if I could deliver it to another address and didn't give any explanation as to why.

joseplun-5 He purchased a book from me last night and today he sent me a message asking to ship to a different address. I already printed the label with the Ebay provided address and I don't ship to any address other than this. I cancelled the transaction and sent a message to the buyer asking him to update his address on ebay. I've added the seller to my blocked list, so even if he updates the address I won't be selling to him.

FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S flying under the radar?

I considered watching FNAF but I'm going to watch Willy's Wonderland again after seeing it shortly after it came out. -
Voldemort charges $200 max regardless of value, but their high value slabs sell for substantially less than CGC so it might not be worth it.

It's absolutely awful. So is 180. I didn't read either until recently after always thinking about buying a copy for my personal collection. I'm glad I've read both and have no desire to own either one now.

New CGC modern grading standards?
Flanders82 replied to Lost's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Hard to tell on a photo but there may be a stain (or possible newton ring) to the left of Wolverine's right elbow. I feel that all of the comics I won at auction recently were either accurately graded or even undergraded. It's rare that this actually happens, especially at Comiclink, where they don't post photos of the back cover.
