A Comic Psychology Question- Uber Powerful Characters
Djrodunchained replied to electricprune's topic in Comics General
Are all powerful characters as entertaining longterm? Superman has been stale through long stretches and I believe it's due to his powers. I think it makes the writing more difficult, coming up with stories that don't rely on gimmicks or a 'kryptonite' to be a threat. Great adversary's are harder to come up with. Spiderman probably has the best list of villains, because they don't have to be world-beaters. -

What is the minimum amount of comics you have, or would submit to CGC to be graded at one time? I know most would prefer to combine shipping costs and do multiple, and along with the wait times, but is there a mandatory minimum for you personally? Would you ever just send one in at a time? Just curious on what people's preferences are!

What are your 2022 collecting goals?
Djrodunchained replied to BlowUpTheMoon's topic in Comics General
I know... I can't get caught up on what I COULD have had if I didn't sell my entire collection about 5 years ago and if I would have been more focused on my collecting over the years. It's definitely a challenge on the pocket book! -

What are your 2022 collecting goals?
Djrodunchained replied to BlowUpTheMoon's topic in Comics General
I think the most I've ever spent on a comic is in the mid $400s, so my main goal this year is to save extra money and get a comic in the $1000-$1500 range. I really want an Amazing Spiderman #9 in the best condition I can get for the price, so will probably hit up these boards when I have the funds ready and available! After that, pull the trigger on other issues I like/want as I see good deals. -
That's gorgeous!
-
I'm no expert by any means, but I'll take a stab and say 8.0-8.5!

One of the following: ASM 9, 13, 15 A first silver age appearance of Aquaman or Hawkman A first silver age villain appearance. Thinking Loki, or Riddler, or ...? And sending off my first batch ever to cgc for grading -
I might be a little younger then some of you, 41 currently. I started collecting as a kid and my older brother got me into some great older stories. I amassed a humble but decent collection when I quit collecting in the 90's due to lack of quality in the industry. I lugged around 4 long boxes for about 2 decades, only to sell them all together about 2 years ago. I've dipped my toes back in a bit, carefully buying a few comics here. I definitely regret selling some of my books as I see what it would cost to replace them (Amazing Spiderman #15). I find it a fun hobby again! I've always collected for the nostalgia (I don't flip or look to buy books just to sell for a profit) and to display comic books as art. While the internet has made finding pretty much any comic relatively simple, its lost the charm and fun of finding books in person, or looking and searching for it with a bit of work/time commitment. I hope all of you guys a bit older then me can find someone to pass on your collections to who will appreciate them, or sell them and enjoy the remainders of your life and fruits of your labor!

“I will destroy them” Dylans Universe calls out CGC on IG
Djrodunchained replied to Guardian Comics's topic in Comics General
If this had happened to me (I've never had 2 or even 1 AF 15), I think I would be posting as much information as clearly as possible and establishing a timeframe, multiple extremely clear photos, provide who pressed the comics, every last detail, etc to prove my side of the issue. All of his nonsense is convoluted forcing people to make assumptions because he refuses to be forthright. In my experience in life, its the sign of someone not being honest. -
The influence and effect of the CGC forum on Ebay selling
Djrodunchained replied to James J Johnson's topic in Comics General
Excuse my ignorance, but how does this seller have 100% positive feedback when there are several negative feedbacks due to nonpayment (as a buyer)?
