  1. Now there's a picture with tons of appeal.
  2. Was wanting to start picking up Atomic and Golden Age. Wanted to see some cover images so I did a search on Google. Found a weird item called "Have a Cigar" where people were actually able to make comments about a book. The comments were give and take and that appealed to me as being much better than a simple website displaying images and giving only the commments of the guy making the page.
  3. What's the deal with the window pattern? There are circles with bars running straight up and down, yet in the middle right panel the shadow they cast behind the man are at an angle. I may need Ze-Man to explain this to me.
  4. A few. Of Donald Duck I have "Luck of the Ducks" in hardback and softack. Then I have "Donald Forgets to Duck". It's probably the oldest BLB I have. I've got others (Flash Gordon and the Red Sword Invaders; Zane Grey's King of the Royal Mounted and the Northern Treasure; Aquaman; Mickey Mouse and the Magic Lamp; Tazan the Mark of the Red Hyena ; The Man from Uncle; The Invaders; Journey to the Center of the Earth; Tracy...etc.. Welcome to the Boards.
  5. considering the fact many People hate the IRS it probably for self defence Anyone remember the movie "For Richer or Poorer" starring Tim Allen? In the movie he is on the run from financial trouble and hangs out with the Amish. A special agent played by Larry Miller was after Allen and he certainly was kooky just like the above mentioned agent.
  6. King comics #1 would be the introductions to Flash Gordon, Henry , Brick Bradford, and Mandrake the Magician.
  7. Apparently Cegar needed a character to sail Olive over to someplace so he drew a sailor character. This became popeye and soon he took over the whole Thimble Theater strip.
  8. Popeye first appears in 1929. Olive Oyl first appeared in 1919. I was amazed at that. Olive's first boyfriend was Ham Gravy. Of course this is all comic strip so I don't know the comic book answers.
  9. This thread is phenomenal. The details have me floored.
  10. Actually a lot of people don't know the answer to this either. You should place food against the dull side of the foil. I really didn't know this. What is the harm from the shiny side. Fortunately I'm not the one that uses it.
  11. Aces, I've started doing that very thing to some of my books that I know my family would have no idea about, in case something happens to me.
  12. So which side of Aluminum foil should I use? And no it's not for making a pointy hat.
  13. I loved seeing this Commie fly through the air. # 1 1952
  14. Scanned one at work, the other at home. Didn't realize the difference in brightness.
  15. Excellent cover. There's a lot going on and the helmet is wild, but those shoes are geeky. What's that coming out of the ankle? The lone Earthman sure looks scrawny. Hope he can save the day.
  16. Is there a third collector who is close to this completion as well?
  17. Ian, I sent the 3 pics back to you shrunk down. Were they not enough?
  18. Sorry heydude, he still doesn't know you exist. Apparently you don't have to worry about him misunderstanding your post.
  19. Actually the name burninator sounds like a rash.
  20. What are maroons................... Like baboons... Something I heard Bugs Bunny say one time.
  21. Oh good grief. What a bunch of maroons. I meant that in a nice way.
