  1. Beautiful looking book. As the prices continue to get away from me I'm really hoping to continue the collection looking for low-grade stuff that presents this nicely. I've seen some ASM #1 .5's lately that have definitely caught my eye.
  2. If you want them both on the same cover you can go as early as Fantastic Four Annual 1. Spidey is in Sub Mariner 14 (1969), but I don't remember the issue and can't say if they actually meet haha
  3. This NM copy of Nintendo Power #1 sold last night for $2,370. Pretty good sale and I think probably the first loose copy I've seen that I thought should be slabbed.
  4. What a scoop! That makes it sound like the guy who won this lot of 6 sealed issues got an absolute steal if they grade well. One thing that's strange about that lot of the 6-sealed is that it also sold in November using the same images for $500 less. Wonder what happened there...
  5. Hard to tell if 3k will be considered a bargain down the line. I think in terms of Nintendo Memorabilia these magazines are awesome, but video game collectors are interested in...collecting video games. Don't get me wrong, I expect the value to rise, just not by a significant amount. If the #1 ever gets graded I imagine it alone could fetch 3k+ today if it actually came back 9.4 or better
  6. Yes, still have the Tatooz! Does CGC take that into consideration when grading the book?
  7. With the book somehow getting hot recently wondering if anyone has any opinions on my copy. Looks like an 8.5 to me?
  8. Nice! I remember a few pages back you mentioned you were looking to upgrade. Post a pic when you get it.
  9. One of my favorite ASM Covers! So happy to receive this one for the holidays. And it’s got my name on the slab (no, I’m not THAT Esposito haha).
  10. Secured a beautiful copy of #2 before the holidays. Such a tough one to find with a nice cover. Again, nothing NM or even close, but I’m happy to get something with no major defects, writing, and everything still attached.
  11. Thanks for all the grade suggestions, I'm leaning 8.5 as well since I had a very similar looking copy of ASM 300 that came back 8.5 I don't think I'm gonna send this one to CGC, but if I did I'd get a press for sure.
  12. I really love this copy, but does it grade as high as I think it should? Thanks for any suggestions!
  13. Hi all! Long time user, new to posting. Would love to get some thoughts on this copy of ASM 252.
  14. Here's my copy of NP #1! Not the best condition, but I picked this guy up way back in 2010 and it has everything included. I've got a copy of #2 coming in the mail right now. That's a tough one to find in good shape because the dark cover really shows all the wear. No plan to collect em all, but I agree with @Bronty that a lot of these early issues in great condition will only be harder to find as time goes on.
  15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Great set of books. That Medusa cover is a Top 10 ASM for me. It's quite unlike many of the silver age Spidey covers and it always stood out to me.
  16. That's true. Anything resembling #1 (like 11, 18, 39, and 285...all mario covers) will probably stay popular. Looking at eBay the value of almost any issue is considerably low unless it's in mint condition and then the price sky rockets. That's obviously true for most of this hobby, but with CGC not being the most likely path for this magazine it's hard to gauge how many mint condition early issues there are versus ones kids beat the heck out of. Seems like a big deal down the line if the series becomes more collectible/desirable.
  17. I can't believe how bad I beat up my copies of this magazine as a kid. I have issues 118-186 and I don't think they can be considered anything other than personal nostalgia given the condition they are in. Funny considering all of the comics from my childhood are still in great shape. Priorities I suppose. Back in 2010, I thought it would be really cool to own the first issue of Nintendo Power. I paid $20 on eBay for a pretty pristine "Sample Copy" version with everything attached and no writing. Exciting to see how this thing has exploded in value. I can't imagine the rest of the run gaining much value, but here's some issues I think will grow. 1, 2, 4, 11, 17, 31, 285
