  2. Exactly. It has absolutely no meaning for buyers. It's just a dopamine hit.
  3. Spidey #238! The picture isn't clear; is there any color loss? Printer's crease or no, color loss is color loss, and counted against the grade.
  4. The damage shown isn't production, it's just normal wear and tear. Damage that happens during packaging (I assume you mean initial distribution) is still damage, and still counts against the grade. Unless this specific copy has sentimental value to you, I wouldn't bother, as it's not worth it. If it does, most, if not all, of that will come out with a competent presser.
  5. What are you planning on doing with it? PS. I love this book. Love, love, love it. From the era when you could buy new Marvel #1s off the rack and make 5-10 times your money in a year.
  6. That's actually a very good offer. 2-3 years ago, that would have been a laughably high offer, but now...eh, not so much. There is a LOT of drek in here. A LOT. BUT...there are some gems, so if your offer's legit, I would encourage PleaseHelp to take it.
  7. GI Joe #21 signed by Hama and Janson. That Storm Shadow movie will be a monster. I hear there's one on eBay for sale... (Disclaimer: may or may not be my copy for sale.)
  8. I think you're overthinking it. I would be willing to bet what you thought happened was not what actually happened, and you may have allowed yourself to be influenced to believe otherwise. It's amazing how differently people can see the same situation. Happens to the best of us. Onward and upward.
  9. I have two nearly complete runs of Pre-Unity and Unity, along with variants, in CGC 9.8 SS. I have four or five long boxes of Pre-Unity. I have a couple more long boxes of golds. I did NOT own ANY of those books in the fall of 1993. I owned a single set of pre-Unity, probably in 9.4ish condition, and ZERO golds (because they were EXPENSIVE!) To date, I have never paid more than $40 for a raw Valiant comic. I take it back, I think I paid $90 or so for a nice raw Harby #1. Too bad the world wasn't filled with JC retailers looking for people to buy their "bad" Valiant books. I bought 30 copies of Harby #1 from Mile High in...2005?...for $12 each. 80 copies of X-O #1 for $4 each. Then, someone at Mile High wised up and said "we don't do bulk sales!" To which I replied, "why do you care how many you sell to one person, if I'm paying full price for each copy?" PS that only the VF people would know: if I had found that 50 copy Harby #1 lot before John, there NEVER would have been a VFVSS of that... Think of the 9.8s in that lot that got ruined!
  10. Of course! In fact, my other copies may be labeled correctly. Yes, we noticed that when they came back, too. Free Neal sigs!
  11. That's an astonishing looking 4.0. What's wrong with it?
  12. I've had double digit label errors in the past year. Those have to be fixed. It takes time, effort, and cost to do that...significant cost. Not showing information until the order is shipped virtually guarantees that these errors go out, with no chance of fixing them beforehand. In fact, on one order, we e-mailed customer service, and the correct information was entered into the system...without actually fixing the labels themselves. Showing grades and other information before the books go out would save on this. As Tony said, more information, not less, is what is needed.
