  1. here's the two part CBM interview, great stuff! http://pristine.webspaceforme.net/Facebook/robertbell/robertbell.html
  2. one pack of Pokemon cards, that's all he wanted,
  3. so on Wednesday of this week, my son (11yr) says "let's go to the comic store", which we had just gotten back from the Tampa Bay con the previous weekend, so my comic budget had pretty much already been spent. but I said "sure, why not". We walk in and on the back wall along with all the modern Harley Quinns from 6 months ago marked up to $10, was an ASM 129. the owner was not there that day, so I asked the employee what he was asking on it, and when he told me the price, which was very low, I asked to look at it, and I then said, "what's wrong with it? is it a reprint?," the clerk said, I dunno, you can take it out and look at it if you want, so after looking at it as closely as I could, it was complete with no resto, and no major flaws, just a little bit of general wear. seems like everytime my son suggests we go to the LCS, I always score, last time was a complete set of Harley Quinn (2000 series) 1-38, that they had just gotten in and got them for a great group price. anyway, here's the book, I have it as a 7.5, tiny tear on top bc, and some general spine wear, but very clean and bright, I couldn't be happier.
  4. and what was even better is that I priced the book in 2013.
  5. yep, here's the CGC notes: "spine of cover mostly split & cover reattached with tape. Tape on interior" but it presents very well, and no stains or big pieces missing, I love it.
  6. in the club again thanks to Gator, I can't imagine a better looking 1.8 copy. and no surprises on the back cover neither.
  7. This is a book that has yet to get its due. The Batman 227 of bronze Supes....and a bigger standout relative to the other Adams covers in the run. +1 one of the better Superman stories from the bronze age as well. love that book.
  8. it's been the trend ever since the 1989 Batman movie, at least there it was portrayed as "body armor", but it soon morphed into every superhero suit being padded muscle suits, even Superman's who doesn't need body armor. truth is real muscles don't show through clothing/spandex they way we have become used to seeing them drawn in the comics. Affleck and Cavill are both in shape (especially Cavill) but to drape them in plain spandex/cloth would take away the bigger than life comic book appeal. the funniest one is the Night Owl suit in Watchmen, Night Owl is supposed to be a little fat and out of shape, and far removed from his crime fighting career, and Snyder has him looking like Batman in that movie.
  9. columbia comics has two graded copies for sale, a 3.0 and 4.0. he has a website and is also a board member, if you would like to contact him.
  10. I think we need to see a reference on that one.....really he wanted an invisible va-jay-jay? It's in the article with the Grant Morrison quote linked earlier. Is he the one that while watching 'Man of Steel' in a movie theater yelled out something like 'YOU CAN'T DO THAT" when Zod is killed? I think that may have been Mark Waid, but Morrison was also a little apprehensive about the killing of Zod.
  11. I let my 9.6 fly on eBay about 3 months back and it sold for $510. legit sale. so I would say that is the mark for 9.6 copies.
  12. very smooth transaction with Softserve, A+ all the way (thumbs u
  13. Second that. I've decided not to sell anymore of my DC Comics Presents copies since you never know which one will take off that title used to be total quarter box fodder (even #1) and now.... this is one of the titles I bought and read as a kid, so I had about 50 or so of them already, so I decided to go ahead and complete the run, (1-97 plus 4 annuals) I currently need 6 issues, already have the big keys, I went to two LCS today and the first store thankfully had 2 issues I needed, but not many issues at all really, the next store I remember last summer had quite a few of them, but I could not find them in the store, so when I asked the owner about them, he said a dealer came and bought the whole long box, I know that there were no keys in the boxes, 26,27,47,49, cuz I picked them all out myself last summer, so maybe the title as a whole is getting more attention simply off the strength of the keys in the run.
  14. looks like it to me, but where did the spine splits go?
  15. going to start a sales thread tonight about 7pm EST. books include, Silver & Bronze DCs, a few pre code horror/crime. a few Bronze Marvels. here's a pic.
  16. yeah, I noticed that too, I heard lines that I'd never noticed before, like at the end when Brody is trying to shoot the tank in the shark's mouth, and he is saying "come on, blow up", It was always unintelligible to me on a stereo T.V.
