Can you clarify which True-to-Life Romances #9? Is the white background cover the second series? thanks

It is a great cover, but it's not even in my top two or three favorite covers in this run... -

Yes, it was originally touted as a "No fake Legos" show, but it has become a bit gimmicky with "influencers" and the whole Red Carpet Experience for $50, which is just a big upcharge for a one-hour jump on the masses. To make matters worse, the first time I paid the early admission, one dealer said "Good luck on finding a good deal anywhere in here.. these other dealers are like vultures and picked me clean last night before the show and then they displayed the purchased books for way more money"... I am sure that's normal for the night before a con, but it didn't make me feel good hearing it -

$50 is totally not worth it. all you get is a bag with a bunch of worthless trinkets and advertisements, and a bunch of sleepy dealers who aren’t close to being fully set up. Two years in a row there were two or three dealers who weren’t set up until after the general admission people came in. Save the $$ for comics -

I agree. To me, All-Famous Police 11 is right up there with Thrilling Crime 49 as Cole's top crime books. -
Although both covers are amazing, I prefer the cover for 18.

Thanks for sharing. I will have to track down those stories to read online.

Here's a nice copy of Adventures into Unknown 27 that was designated "Single Highest Graded!" by ComicLink. Perhaps they meant single highest graded for the signature series but I think most would assume it's actually the single highest graded copy of this book, which is way off. There are actually about 20 total copies higher. The actual highest graded is a 9.4. The second photo shows CLink's listing for True-To-Life Romances 11. The title states "One of only 4 graded by CGC". Oddly, the description states "Only 11 copies have ever been certified by CGC". The census shows there are actually 13 copies graded. These auction companies can be sloppy with their descriptions, so it's always best to do your own homework...

That issue of Ghostly Weird is, to me, one of the most nightmare-inducing covers of the Golden Age. Imagine being a kid and you're flipping through cartoon books and superheroes and you come across THAT!

That's badass.

Wow, what a burn, LOL

Weird. Someone else who actually knows what he is talking about agreed with me. -
My personal favorite in the run.

This one somehow flies under the radar. If you look at the hooded ghouls, they are miniature versions of the ghouls on the cover of Blue Bolt 113. -
