Giant Size X-Men #1 Just Graded 9.9. It Begins.....

Agree with everything you've said. There are many examples of Silver Age, Golden Age, Pre Code Horror books that have received a 9.9, and we could argue the age of those books would make it just as difficult, if not more, to get a 9.9. Where was the outrage when each of those popped up? The only thing odd about this GSX1 is the timing being so close to the 9.9 pre-screen announcement. Having a discussion about the book is good, but the hatred and bashing of CGC and big-time dealers is just unnecessary drama and ridiculous. -

I think most of the newbies are more guilty of asking questions or making comments that have been mentioned innumerable times over the years...and they get bashed by the "holier-than-thou" boardies who are so easily annoyed, as opposed to receiving a more understanding and welcoming response. At least we're figuring out who's who. As for the OP topic, most key issue prices have dropped dramatically over the past 12 to 18 months, but still significantly higher than 2019 and before. The exception is certainly Golden Age keys...and even morso, Pre Code Horror. Record prices continue to be shattered each month.

Relative to the peak during 2021 and 2022 (depending on the book), almost every single key issue from Silver, Bronze, and Copper Age has dropped by 50% (some more, some less). Yes, almost all of those keys are still more valuable than pre covid.
-
I guess it depends on when you bought it. JIM 85 has lost about half its value from the peak in almost all grades.

Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
Motor City Rob replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
Thanks again for doing this. As I start from the far right-hand column, I see more and more green as I move to the left. That's a good sign that many books are on the rise. That being said, January through May is traditionally a time when comic sales increase in volume and price (the post-covid correction is an exception). Will be interesting to see if this year is any different. -

Really enjoy going through these summaries. Thanks for putting them together. For the most part, with a few exceptions, Bronze and Silver still going down, and PCH is still on fire!! -

Box 3 from @sckao Some great comics and a sealed Guardians of the Galaxy Omnibus. The generosity from Shin is overwhelming.
-
Box 2 (of 3) from the @sckao Mystery Box... Marvel puzzle, some paint, backpack full of stuff for a trip to wine country, sand paper, gorilla glue, and a few 3D printed superheroes...including a pretty spectacular Thanos. Box 3 this weekend!
-
Box 1 of 3 from @sckao Some really nice EC hardcovers, Stan Lee TPBs, a couple stacks of trading cards, some non comic related reading, golf balls, and a variety of Pebble Beach soaps. Will post Box 2 tomorrow.
-
The mystery box from @sckao has arrived in three parts...so far. Been too busy to open anything, so finally getting to it tonight. Stay tuned!!!
