  1. I paid through paypal and the time was up already. I was going to look into disputing with the card attached to paypal, but if they reverse the charge I don't know how paypal would react.
  2. Hotshotcomics.com and Ashville Comics If admin or anyone else thinks this would get more visibility or should be posted in another pace, please let me know. I apologize for the length of this post, but I will be posting this in many places and wanted to write one complete post. February 5, 2021 I ordered a CGC 9.8 Batman #106 1st print (the printing is important later) from Hotshotcomics.com through their eBay store. The listing stated the book would be delivered 30-45 days from release (3/3/21) + an additional 8 weeks for CGC grading. This expected delivery date would fall sometime in June. August 7, 2021 I messaged the seller through eBay asking for an update. This is almost 2 months from the latest expected delivery date. September 10, 2021 I ordered an Iron Man #12 CGC 9.8 Miles Morales cover directly from Hotshotcomics.com. At this point I still had no alarm bells going off because of the sellers rating and he finally replied. Also, I had heard CGC was taking a long time. September 15, 2021 After over a month, I have had no response. I sent another message through eBay asking for an update and also called the phone number listed on Hotshotcomics.com website and left a message. That day I received a reply through eBay stating CGC was taking 5-6 months and that my book should arrive in the near future. October 7, 2021 I received a CGC Batman #106 2nd print. This is not the book I ordered. I immediately emailed Doug at Hotshotcomics.com and let him know. October 8, 2021 Doug responded, saying “I’m waiting on a reply, I’ll get back with you on Monday for sure but it looks like we had issues with the first print. I don’t know why they would make the substitution without authorization however” Is he trying to blame CGC or his employees? October 17, 2021 Monday October 11 has come and gone with no update from Doug. I emailed him asking for an update. October 21, 2021 I commented on a brand-new Instagram post from Hotshotcomics.com asking for an update on my order. The post was removed, and I received a direct message with the email address for Doug. I replied that is the email address I have been trying to get an answer from already. I was then blocked from their page. I tried the same thing on Facebook. After asking politely for an update I was blocked from commenting on their posts. I then called the Hotshotcomics.com phone number and left a message asking for an update and that I just want to know it’s being worked on. I tried to file a claim with Paypal, but it was instantly declined due to the age (worth a shot). I then got an email from Doug accusing me of stalking. We went back and forth with him also telling me “things don’t always happen on the timeline you would like them to.” And “now you’ve gone to the extraordinary step of filing a dispute so you’re on your own.” I found other customers of his having the same problem and he tries to gas light them the same way. He says they aren’t patient (which I obviously was WAY too patient), then calls them immature, etc. TL/DNR: DO NOT BUY FROM HOTSHOTCOMICS.COM So to recap, I got the wrong book 8 months after I ordered and went weeks at a time without response. Then, after trying to contact the seller (nicely I might add!) on his business social media pages, he accuses me of stalking and is mad that I filed a dispute, so he isn’t going to fix his “mistake”. I have looked deeper into this seller since all of this, and he does this a lot. He hides behind Ashville Comics good reputation and uses pre-order wait times to make sure customers can’t give negative feedback or dispute. He also makes sure no one sees negative posts on his social media pages. Unfortunately, because of his tactics, people don’t know about his behavior and get suckered in. I am going to change that. I am going to make sure people know how he does business. He also owns Ashville Comics (a physical store). In addition to posting this in as many places as I can, I will be filing with BBB and the NC Attorney General.
  3. I think I agree with you. I've been reading and collecting comics for over 30 years now and I just started "speculating" last year. As in, buying just for the purpose to resell. Its helped a little, money wise, but it's not worth it to me. It's also slightly taken away from my enjoyment of comics, so I think Im done with that.
  4. Good point about 361, I think it was underpriced and had/has plenty of room to grow. I've got one decent copy of that (I really need to post a pic and see what grade it is). I'm thinking a 7 or 8. I'll probably hang on to the 9.8 #3 for now. Thanks for the reply!
  5. I think the Venom "bubble" is getting a little big and am thinking of unloading my Venom #3 CGC 9.8 (1st full Knull appearance). I can make a couple bucks now or wait and see what this book does when the movie drops. What do you think? Will the movie outweigh the Venom overload in the books? Edit: just want to say, I know ASM 300 will obviously get the most, if any, benefit from the movie.
  6. I'm seriously debating it, and at $30, it's not too bad (yet). This is a fantastic cover, and it would be for PC, but I'm curious how the value would hold up (never paid much attention to JSC values). Edit: looks like there will be a signed copy available from JSC store, probably around $58 if its like the others there. Whats your thoughts on that vs an unsigned copy?
  7. I did pick this up and I'm glad. Seems to be heating up based on the few ebay sales so far.
  8. I cant find a single listing for this cover on ebay. It can't be that rare, but I don't know much about the fried pie variants. This book is doing well right now, so im not sure why a good looking (imho) variant wouldnt be selling. I'm thinking about picking one up from my lcs and was wondering if it's worth it ($12). Any thoughts on this book specifically and fried pie variants in general?
  9. Does anyone know a deceant priced place to get this variant? Most of the sources I know are out of stock
  10. Does anyone know the real print run of the Dell'Otto variants of 798? Comicxsposure doesn't say (not that I could find) and ebay listings show either 1000 or 3000.
  11. Thats possible! The only 1000 print run I know of is the Dodson virgin, but that just says "ONLY 1000 RELEASED WORLD WIDE ONLINE", so there is probably more than 1000.
  12. I'm wondering this too. It seems like there are plenty of these out there (even though the price has gone up). I really like the Delotto variant, but I can't resist Ross.
