I'm asking for your opinion. How much weight do off white pages have against the 1960's (arrrrgh!) tape repair on this book? Cover and center fold are amazingly attached. It is complete, flat and clean. The tape repair has not yet migrated/stained the inside cover. (Sorry could not rotate the cover image.)

How about boxes? The long boxes at my local comic shops are sort of a one size supposed to fit all. Now that my older SA books are in propper bags and boards it seem the long box is a tight fit. Are there SA long boxes?

That's my dream team right there! Great job getting them together! Which was the hardest book of the bunch to get?

Very Impressive!!! I'm jealous! I had to sell my Journey into Mystery collection 18 years ago. It's great to see them all together.

X-Men.. A complete run journey.

It's going to start getting harder. The key books are way outside my price range. All I can hope for is maybe an incomplete or cover less copy. Those don't come up that often. I have about 60 late SA early bronze to get. Those will be easy. But the 20 or so SA books will be tough. I ran across a guy with thousands is SA books on Monday. Want me to ask him if he has any X-Men left? -
Having a cigar, Silver Age style! I decided a # 109 is cigar worthy! How 'bout you guys, get anything "cigar worthy" this week? We can't let those Golden Age guys have all the fun.

The Official Thread "The Flash" TV Show SPOILER-FILLED

I agree! I think early on this idea of one main villain per season kinda worked but that was because it was the ultimate villian, Zoom! Now that he's gone I think they are still trying to figure out where to go and how to precede. -
A few more items sold

Its hard to resist that urge to buy! But when you're getting down to just the key books needed to complete the collection you must have the funds at your disposal when the opportunity comes along. I know because recently I had to pass one up. I'm trying to figure out how to resist as well. Keep us posted! Let us know what you are looking for? -
The Official Thread "The Flash" TV Show SPOILER-FILLED

I really liked the show before the mid season finale. The race to defuse the nuke. One of my favorite shows of the entire run. I agree with the others about how Ralph is portrayed and this dragging on of the Devoe plot. For a die hard Flash fan like me, even I was turned off. Still ist kinda cool to have Flash on TV! I will keep watching and hope for a better writing in the episodes to come. -

Great catches! The Witching Hour looks to be in exceptional condition! -
Biggest Flash haul in a long time today! 12 books in all, including one special 10 cent'er #109 on the left!

DC seems to have gone down to 6 7/8" (With some differences probably due to trimming inconsistencies)in late 1965. Marvel seems to have been at 6 3/4 in '65 but I have very few Marvels to go by. I sure one of you out there can confirm this Scooby Doo mystery?
-
I'll be trying out that size when they come in next week! If they are what I think they are I'll get more. Does anyone out there know when comics got reduced to under 7" wide? If I'm not mistaken it seems Marvel stayed at that width longer than DC. Is that true?

I love the Adams covers! They are some of my favorites. Amazing condition! Truly a "Silver Age cigar moment" Congratulations!

There it is guys the last 10 cent Flash comic book, and peeking out from behind #125 the first 12 cent issue. Ahh the end of an era! Notice how #124 doesn't say "Still 10 cents" like so many others of others leading up to the price change.

I would like your thoughts on some of the unique preservation challenges that older silver age books present. I am about to re bag my entire collection and I've just ordered 50 SA 2mil Mylites and acid free boards. I have found that many SA books will fit in standard size but those pesky 80 and 100 page giants do not. Also anything before say 1962 really needs to be in a SA size bag. I noticed E.Gerber sells a 1.42 mil Mylar bag w/flap. Has anyone out there tried these?

Amazing! Is that a Gil Kane cover?
-
Hey guys when #109 does arrive would that be considered a Silver Age "have a cigar" moment? I noticed the GA gang seem to have ritual going on over there?
-
Flash #121! Still 10 cents but not for long by issue 125 they would be 12 cents. Counting down the days for my #109 in route! Very excited, stay tuned comic fans!

I'm going to try my hand at this....so keep in mind its been awhile for me. The last time I really graded books was in the 1980's before the 10 point system. Here goes- the book looks amazing overall, some wear visable on the cover where some of the color has worn off (along the spine side) Slight stress lines at the staples and a minor indent on the back cover. 8.5-9? Is my best guess. What do you guys think? (I wish some of my SA comics looked this good!)

Flash 114! Rough shape but fit my budget and now she's all mine. With #109 on the way only 8 more SA Flash 10 cent'ers left.
-
I have about 500 in my collection. Not many but I am a character specific collector. P.S. I have a few good books to trade for Flash comics I need to get rid of those pesky non Flash comics!

I'm new to the forum so there may be a learning curve with the image down loading. I just got 5 new 10-cent'ers that I'd be proud to show off! Just happy to find a place that appreciates this sort of thing!
