  1. I did, for whatever reason I didn't find the issue. I guess I'll try again.
  2. Thanks for the feedback. It's hard to know what is standard vs. not acceptable and since I'm new to slabbing I can't foresee how something could be a later issue.
  3. Hi I am new to slabbing. So far my experience with CGC has been less than stellar. I just received my second batch of comics from a single (first time) order I submitted. I have a Hulk 180 that is slabbed off-center. Can someone please tell me if this is normal for a bronze age, and specifically for a Hulk 180? The other two comics in the order are not off-center, but are both ASM comics. I have no reference point to understand why this comic would be slabbed like this. Any guidance or info is appreciated.
  4. Hey all, It's been a while, but here is the update, I was slightly surprised, I really didn't think this would grade under 6.0. I had CGC press and clean (no surprises with the interior of book) It was graded 5.5 - Grader notes: subscription crease back cover Thanks again for your feedback, I figured folks would like an update.
  5. @CGC Mike thank you for your response and the information. I am presently in communication with customer service.
  6. Thank you - this is a view point that I am taking seriously. I do think you are correct that someone could question this. I have a collection that one day, I will sell. Since, I have never sold a comic, I have zero credibility. This is one of the reasons I opted to get my books graded, because CGC comes with some cred and buyers would know what they are getting from me. Presently, I am going back and forth with CGC customer service and it's hard to say which way this is going to go. I cannot believe this is my first experience with CGC at present. Fingers crossed.
  7. I want to sell it eventually, I appreciate this view point. I obviously do not want the book to get damaged if it is handled again, but if it bothers me, I wonder how it may bother a potential buyer. I have a bad taste in my mouth as this was my very first slabbed book. I've been waiting for years to get my books slabbed. I finally did it and this is what I get back on a walk through. Granted I wouldn't expect anyone to get this back on any book. Sigh
  8. Hi, I had my very first book, a hulk 181 slabbed. It came with a scratched corner and residue where the slab meets. I want to say this should not be something I should accept, because the look of the slab is junked up in my opinion. Since I am not experienced with the ME process, I only just learned about it from posting in the Newbie forum, I'm hoping someone here can help me. I previously submitted a general email to CGC which did not get a response and then I followed up today because it appeared that my contact may not have gone through. Any assistance is appreciated. Photos for reference.
  9. Ugh. I wish it had been a 6.0. It was graded a 5.5 and it came back looking so nice after the clean and press too.
  10. Hello Everyone, My very first comic book slabbed, a Hulk 181 and the silver CGC sticker in the corner has arrived with a bad scratch. The side of the slab also have some slight residue (maybe this is normal at the seem). I do not know how normal this is or if I should accept this, as I do not know what will affect the value of this slabbed book. I do find it annoying though. Attaching pictures for reference. Would love to hear the groups feedback.
  11. It's been a long time - but this was finally graded at a 5.5. Figured folks who took the time to estimate would want to know. Slightly disappointed, but what can you do. I had it pressed and cleaned. Grader notes: subscription crease back cover breaks color very light staining all over front cover
  12. So, if I understand correctly - anything beyond dry cleaning is considered restoration? Using a solvent is restoration? Regardless of how attached I am to some books vs. others... my decision making process comes back to investment and ability to sell the book at some point. In this case blue vs. purple label...do blue books always have higher value/demand? I appreciate your take and advice on keeping work orders. Still so much to learn...
  13. Thanks, I appreciate this feedback. I'm still new at all of this, but I'm wondering if people who have been doing this a long time use CGC to do their pressing and dry cleaning?
