  1. A book that isn’t getting its due but is featured in this auction is More Fun Comics 31. This book is very htf and extremely important yet highly underrated. This issue features the first ever published image of Superman in the form of an interior front cover ad for Action 1 that hit the newsstands on 4/19/38 two weeks prior to Action 1 hitting the stand. Best of luck to anyone looking for a copy. This is only the ninth universal copy to be graded by CGC. Scott
  2. Precisely. Ten years minimum since either major auction house has sold a copy and only three added to the CGC census in those ten years.
  3. Hey all, I’m looking for a little assistance if anyone is able to help out. I’m trying to track down additional copies of More Fun 31 in trying to see how many are really in existence. Per the Gerber guide, this book was initially noted as a Gerber 6 when published in 1989 meaning 50-200 copies in existence based on their scarcity index.Take the index with a grain of salt for any number of reasons. Since acquiring my copy I have found this to not be the case. To date there are only ten total copies on the CGC census, one copy on the CBCS census and two raw copies that I am aware of (I have just today been notified of two additional raw copies bringing my count to 15). What leads me to believe that this book may be far more scarce than the guide would have you believe is that in the past ten years only three copies total have been added to the CGC census. If there were many more available in the wild one would think based on the importance of this book (first ever published image of Superman) and based on how Action 1 has gone through the roof, that more than three copies would have been graded since 2013. If any of you knows of anyone who owns a copy or if you own a copy yourself, please make note in the comments. I’d love to hear from anyone else with a graded copy (I am personally aware of one other graded copy that I know who owns it and three of the raw copies). Thanks for everyone being so great here. Scott
  4. Just found this thread. I’ll gladly add some of my Schomburg goodness to it.
  5. A couple of recent pick ups. Canadian MMC #87. Only three copies on the census. The AS#2 just went against my “never have a restored book in my collection” thought process. I love this book and I’m thrilled to have it.
  6. Made a little trade acquisition today. Unfortunately the majority of the post war 9.2 crew (Cap 52, 56 and 58) had to go as part of the deal but I wound up with this little trinket and some extra cash instead. I’m happy.
  7. I figured I may never be able to afford a copy of Cap #1 so I grabbed a copy of Young Allies #1 instead. Only thing better than Cap knocking out Hitler is Bucky knocking out Hitler and Red Skull. Simon and Kirby, early Stan Lee, first meeting of Captain America and the Human Torch. This book ticks all the boxes.
  8. My most recent acquisition and an image with the other members of my Nine-Two Crew.
  9. Just had FedEx deliver this book today. Totally thrilled to have this one. By far my top Cap. issue to date.
  10. My latest pickup for my Timely family. Totally stoked to have this book.
  11. Hey all, First time in the forums. I gave up my full collection early last year to concentrate on Timely Captain America.
  12. Thanks. I kind of borrowed it from yours. Such a classic look.
  13. Here’s mine back from framing. Got to love how it turned out.
  14. I just picked up a Cap #37 signed litho last night on EBay. I have no idea what they are currently going for (other than what I paid) but I was totally thrilled to find one and really don’t care if I overpaid as this piece isn’t going anywhere. #120/150. This is going to look totally awesome framed and matted. Scott
