  1. It’s my favorite page from my favorite issue of my favorite storyline, and I waited 18 years (since I started collecting) for it to surface! There is one other page in the issue I would like to have but the seller isn’t selling. I also have my 3rd favorite page from the issue. I guess Sandman fans can be a little 🤪
  2. Bonjour! Just arrived to Paris where I’m staying for a month. Would love to see some comic art and meet fellow collectors in town. Any tips? Merci! JH
  3. Seeking pages from this issue. Lmk if you have one that could be for sale thanks. JH
  4. So as I live in Europe I have all the stuff I buy from US sellers sent to - my mom - who dutifully stacks the packages until I come for a visit. It’s quite a painful waiting period before I can finally get ahold of all the goodies that have been waiting for me. I’m starting to take pictures of the haul and will share here: https://cafurl.com?i=24025 More to come today! JH
  5. I don’t really want to post specific examples because it’s kind of mean right? It’s like negging someone’s art and that’s definitely not cool. But it’s just the “running” pose or somesuch and the other leg is missing It’s just become this thing I can’t unsee. And then I think - $15,000 for a cover with Batman’s leg missing?
  6. Once I am looking for this on a piece of comic art I can never unsee it. It just works better the less two dimensional it can be, and that does not often come across on the uncolored work. Thoughts? Feelings?
  7. Added a couple more pieces including the big McKean Overture TPB cover... MCKEAN WALL POWER
  8. Nice to be back in the comic art world, from the other side of the world. This is a “local” convention, me being based in Budapest, and is certain to be an annual event for me. Amazing opportunity to chat with artists without the usual hundreds of people around. Certainly a more elegant way to do the whole thing. And in such nice environs! Here are a few pieces I picked up on day 1. Day 2 I will pick up a large piece (size wise) from Dave McKean so will have more for this thread tomorrow. Lake Como haul!!
  9. The last art day of the year, and possibly for some time to come. It's very competitive out there for these pages on ebay so had to really go to the mat for this one. Looks like anything with Marionette and Mime has really been moving. Apparently several people contacted the seller after the auction to say they were upset they didn't win! Then bid more I guess!! Anyhow here it is - headed to the framer next week - Doomsday Clock Page!! JH
  10. Wow, first art update in years really. I have been in semi retirement but peaking out now from the shadows with these few pieces. As Tom King's run on Batman comes to an end, I wanted to post a few pieces from some of my favorite artists on the series. I'll be getting these all framed together as they all have the same theme - the ongoing relationship between the Bat and the Cat that King made so central to his storyline. Here they are! Will the Bat and the Cat make it in the end? Only time will tell... Thanks for stopping by. One more big art day in the works then back into retirement again for me! JH
  11. Hey All, Does anyone live near Madison, NJ and can interface with Lee Weeks on my behalf? I’ve been trying to reach him to purchase some OA but he’s been elusive. There’s a signing at Dewey’s comic city coming up in a couple weeks if anyone is in the neighborhood and can hook me up. Thanks. JH
  12. I really enjoyed the recent War of Jokes and Riddles arc. Alas no original art from it exists...
  13. I’m a fan of this book and of Sean. Very talented guy, taking a new approach to tried and true characters. Always welcome in my book! God bless him if he can get those prices for some of the pages. There are certain pages I would go to the mat for and others that I think have rather pedestrian content despite his talent. There should be more flexibility in pricing, with some pedestrian pages priced accordingly but that’s just IMO. If he would rather hold on to pages than sell them at lower prices, it’s up to him. I’ll be reading, and hopefully will grab the right page at some point. JH
  14. Just picked up this Dustin Nguyen Batman piece off ebay. Beautiful iconic representation was just what I was looking for from Dustin. Been waiting on the right piece from him for awhile, and here it is! Happy New Year all!! Batman by Nguyen!!
  15. Cool thread. I like the focus on the pages and why. I'm gonna make two lists. The first list, I'm going to assume unlimited budget. The second list is going to be my "realistic" list for my current budget. It is kind of good to know what pages you really appreciate, even if they are in the B category, and hey, it gets some of the pages that folks aren't going to be talking about in the "top 10" as much. So... Top 10 (unlimited budget) Cover (not pictured) 32 44 (a favorite moment in the whole book, if just for the panel when Joker considers Batman's offer for a single panel - it's nice I at least have the prelim for this) 45 43 42 40 6 39 9 Okay the more interesting list - KJ on a Shoestring: 4 (A non Joker Joker page. A not even really that much Joker OR Batman, BUT you get the entire speech, which is awesome) 26 (Nice montage page, some great panels) 27 (Not a ton going on, but some nice panels) 10 (1 decent shot of Batman and some Joker monitors, and not much else, but a nice moody page) 1 (Awesome moody page, not a lot to see, but I bet it gets a price bump just for being page 1, so maybe shouldn't even be on this list) 34 (Again, probably shouldn't be on this list because the 2/3rds splash probably amps the value, plus the beginning of Batman/Joker confrontation makes it not cheap) 18 (Hospital page, could be affordable) 17 (Ditto, Bullock brings down the value of any page he's on. But obviously some nice panels) 2 (less desirable than 1, even less Batman, love the panel with Two-Face. I might venture to say this could be the cheapest page on this list. Considering replacing with the flashback page that was on Heritage with the Joker reflection in the last panel, but I was thinking this page could be even cheaper) Finally, page 11. (A butler page! But definitely some Batman/Joker elements on the page. )
  16. It is really hard to find quality Preacher pages for $1K!!
  17. I feel like I missed that page, despite having ebay and CAF searches set. Meanwhile some pages show up every day on my CAF search! What gives!?
  18. Got home from vacation and a cool Sandman page featuring Lucifer was waiting for me: Sandman #68 page!
  19. I would buy an A level Thompson Sandman page right now for that price.
  20. Here's the Bolland Batman cover, back from the framers... Dark Framing Goodness

  22. Picked up this nice Y page in the recent offerings. Love these early pages with the word balloons!! Y The Last Man Goodness
