Email them- they were very responsive when I reached out last year... cool book BTW
Maybe I'm just being a bit impatient... I tried that a couple of days ago with no luck, but I'll give it another shot on Monday. Do you happen to still have the email you used? Their website is strange... It has 2019 dates, but 2016 in the links. Maybe I had the wrong address?

I posted this book in a Comics General thread asking about "Surprise Signatures..."
The short of it is that I somehow came to own this book where the previous owner was attempting to have all the creators sign it.
I'd like to finish the project...
I'm in Charlotte, but no one is coming to Heroes this year (so far), but I found that Sal is doing the Legends Tour for Desert Winds Comics...
I was going to send it over, but the submission form link is broken, and they haven't responded to my emails. Does anyone know if this is still an active event? And, more importantly, how I can get this book to Sal?
I'm going to actually try to get this done now and plan to keep this thread going until I get everyone... If anyone could offer any help getting any of these sigs, I would super appreciate it...
(I'd like to get verified and turn this book into SS, so even getting Steve or Art again in an SS setting would be awesome)
Thank you!
This is the notecard I found inside the book
And here are the sigs obtained by the previous owner... (I'd like to get the rest of the sigs on the cover...)
Again, thanks to anyone who could help... I'd really love to complete this project

finally got an order back full of books that I've had raw in my collection for years... All-in-all, pretty good! Couple of bummers, but mostly pretty happy.
(I thought that 37 would have pressed up to at least a VF...)
This WWT is the Golden State copy... WW Comics had it as 9.4, so this was pretty disappointing... (I bought it b/c I wanted the first appearance of the Spear of Destiny)
Boo on this Chew... was sure it'd get 9.8
Hoped for a 9, but that's fine...
Very ouch on the 411... I thought 9.0 at worst... missed cover staining, apparently
I thought this one was 9.0-ish as well, but I also missed staining on this...

I agree with all of that.
I'd love to keep reading Spider-Man and X-Men, but there are too many damned series, too many horrible covers, and I really miss self-contained issues.
I used to have a pretty long pull list that leaned heavily Marvel. Now I basically only buy DD...

ah, yeah... thanks... I found some more threads about this and did some more reading... Sounds like it's going to be nearly impossible to tell from scans or pictures and difficult enough to do even with the book in hand.
It's a reading copy anyway, so I'll probably just suck it up.

I just got to the part where Robinson showed up... that's pretty cool

I don't have any golden or silver age comics
You're not a true comic collector!

I thought the whole point of CGC adding the cover price info to the label/system was to avoid this.
I think maybe "7" is how they write "nine" in Canada

I don't remember where or when I got this, but I was going through books a while ago, and this note card fell out when I opened this DD238. I love it, and I keep telling myself I'm going to try to finish off what the original owner started. Maybe I'll actually remember to do it this year and take this thing to HeroesCon! Daddy Jim's was a store in High Point, NC... I don't think it's there anymore, but I certainly would have gone there the year I lived in Greensboro. I don't recall ever having known it was signed... if this was shown in the bag I can't think of why I would have put it inside the book! But anyway... this kinda fits what you're talking about
EDIT: well, ... no one is on the Heroes guest list this year. (yet)

great, thank you both!
Seems like I've had labeling issues with every-other-invoice... usually incorrect pedigree designation though, so this one was new...
Thanks again

Accurate grading and disclosure of restoration...
I will typically pay a bit of a premium to buy raws from a shop I trust (WW Comics, High Grade Comics, Reese's Rare Comics...) instead of attempting to go eBay or some other non-dealer venue.
(That said, I've had a few misses from those shops (SS1 graded as 5.5/6 that came back as 4.5, E-Man 7 graded 9.4 that came back a 7(!), but I've also found raw purchases here on the boards to be pretty spot-on)

Stan just saidon Facebook the series is moving to IDW. I’ll stick with it until the first crossover then I’m done
Thanks for the update... Hopefully it gets him some more exposure and financial success. That's a bummer though. I bet they'll be more variants of #1 than there were issues published at all last year.

That would be cool. I'm not sure I'd feel motivated to pick up another series if Sakai wasn't creating it though... especially not if he was still doing the DH work.
Depends on who it would be, of course, and now that I'm thinking about it I bet a rotating creator Usagi series would attract some mighty fine talent...

I fully hate and also fully love looking at these two dogs... I keep trying to kick them out of my collection, but they were two of the first (if not the first...) back issue purchases I made. I can't remember a single detail about these, which makes me pretty sad, but I've had these two books forever and just can't get rid of them. I thought Thor was so awesome! I always liked the Torch issue better though... (cover completely detached, but staples intact)
I tried to get both in 9.8 from an auction (I forget where) a few months ago, but my wallet beat my sentimentality... which is rare. One day...

Maybe Sakai is planning on retiring. What I would expect from IDW immediately is a of variant covers for every issue. After that a crossover with something that doesn’t even make sense, like Transformers or whatever. After that multiple series, which would coincide with non-Sakai written and illustrated issues. Eventually, he’s not even on the series anymore
I'm trying to be less pessimistic these days, but if I had to bet on a theory, I think you've got it. Infestation 3!
Usagi / TMNT crossovers are a treat... when they're not normal...
At least it doesn't sound like he's selling the right to the Rabbit!

Looks like it’s just colorized reprints coming from IDW, I expect the ongoing stuff to remain at Dark Horse. Hopefully the Saga hardcovers remain at DH and in black and white too
Hah. We're criss-crossing messages
It sounds like they're starting a whole new ongoing as well as coloring and reprinting the old stuff.
I'd like to think that's not the case and it stays at DH like you, but they said "new series" a couple of times, so I'm afraid it's gone from DH...

Thank you!
If the above doesn't work, I'll consider reactivating FB and travelling down that rabbit hole again.
I might have to warn all my ex-girlfriend's first though.
