  1. I'm trying but no traction yet. I will keep you guys updated.
  2. Love that you are going down this road. This collection is looking fantastic. I would check out Marvel Masterpieces 2007 /2008 because many big name artist like Turner were featured in the set. I would also check out COMC to see if you can snag any deals along the way. I will keep an eye out for you. A surfer just came out with turner art too I believe in 2019. I got this one but I'm sure another one will be posted. This one was released in a peruvian set.
  3. Check out this very special video with Joe Jusko the artist for the 1992 Marvel Masterpieces Set and 2016 Marvel Masterpieces set.
  4. I finally got around to creating a stat card for the surfer collection. I still need to do the Foreign, TCG, Sticker and others soon. Love to see what all my character collectors stat cards look like.
  5. The card is slightly bigger than the standard holder and so they place it in the holder with the sleeve. I have a few like that too.
  6. For the ones you are not in love with--I would make a list of importance first. The worst situation you can be in it's not having cash or something you're in love with. After you are done picking up your favorites, pick up the cards that you were only half interested in.
  7. Retro!!! I'm so glad you are here! Yeah there are definitely some silver surfers in my collection that I'm not a huge fan of the art. Plus it's so difficult to be a character collector now than it was before. But I've been doing this for more than 10 years now and I have to say persistence and patience is the only way to get some of these very unique pieces.
  8. Fire!! I hope you find more punishers for your collection. I will keep an eye out.
  9. Truly beautiful pieces!!! I'm so excited to see them in the blue slab.
  10. Now the CGC has started grading marvel cards-- I was finally able to pair these two beautiful slabs together!!!
  11. You tease. I would love to see anything you find in that large container my friend. So excited that you're getting into the marvel card scene with us. I can't wait to learn more about your collection.
  12. I'm so happy you're here co-host. This collection is very much second to none.
  13. That first appearance image is just so iconic and to have it as a full rainbow – – truly spectacular. Congratulations again on this!
  14. Okay.... I want everyone to know what an amazing honor it is to have you here. Right off the bat we have someone here who is truly an inspiration all character collectors. I know many of you are extremely well-versed in your character collecting, so I'm excited to have another great on the site. Check out his site if you haven't already! http://www.drstrangearchive.com/ He has helped me out tons in the past and I have learned a lot from Donald over the years. Thanks for dropping in my friend.
  15. YES! Doctor Strange is such a badass. Plus the 2016mm card is by far one of my favorite poses. Jusko did a fantastic job on that piece.
  16. Hi my friend, I'm so glad to see you here. I love your collection and seeing your updates in MCCW. If it is the /25 version of the card and then I would maybe just put down between 500 and 1000. I know the prices can be higher or lower depending on the buyer. I also realize how that card is never out and about. This is what it says on our site. "Submitters to CGC are required to list a declared value for each collectible in their submission. By submitting a collectible and listing a declared value, the submitter agrees that the declared value represents the current fair market value (FMV) of the submitted collectible." https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/declared-value-policy/ It's been a while since we've got a chance to catch up. I would love to see more of your collection if you're okay with posting pictures here on the forum.
  17. Hi everyone, This thread will be for anyone who collects marvel cards by way of one specific character across all marvel sets. I myself have been doing this for over 15 years now and continue to fill in the missing spots of my silver surfer card collection. I've collected all the base, versus, appearances, team ups, most parallels, foreign, stickers, and TCG. I'm happy to share any and all of my resources and how I've been able to find all these cards over the years. I mainly met this thread to see if any other collectors out there are as crazy as me out there. Please let me know what characters you collect from marvel cards and if you have any questions. I'll be sure to post some pictures soon. Fausto Barrionuevo
  18. Hi My friend, I would say hold off sending in those particular inserts. The database was made previously to how we knew those cards were going to be manufactured. Hopefully in the future we have a better solution for grading booklet type cards, but as of right now I would hold off on that particular one.
  19. Hi Spawnfreak (awesome name btw), Yup, we grade those. A lot of the companies manufacturing these cards at the time would change their company name here and there, but we grade 1990 X-Force including that awesome Deadpool card. Fausto Barrionuevo
