  1. Hello - My package is en route via FedEx and I just realized that some of the books in the box are not exact matches for the titles/numbers on the packing slip. How will CGC handle the inconsistency in listed items?
  2. I'm almost certain that this was true. The big question is: in 2023 have we come any closer to tracking stolen CGC books as they enter the market?
  3. Hi - Picking up an old thread. Last month, my car was broken into in the middle of the night. The most unfortunate loss was my PC, a laptop that was used to back up family pictures and personal creative work which is irreplaceable. But most pertinent to this thread, was a comic that I had just sold on ebay for $350 and was packed to be shipped (Omega Men #3 CGC graded 9.8). Does anyone know the best way to be on the look out for the serial # for this book?
  4. I just got my The Agents #6 back from CGC at a 9.8. I got really excited and then saw that the last sale for one was around $60. #1 really seems to be holding value. Are the previews now dead-in-the-water? They used to demand a decent premium.
  5. No, none of my submissions were fast-tracked. Everything I submitted took about the same amount of time.
  6. Does anyone have information about how much time PRESCREEN - MODERN adds to CCS TATs? Do they prescreen and then press the most likely candidates or press, prescreen and then send the books within the desired range for grading? Thanks, all!!
  7. Of the ones that have shipped - are you happy with the grades?
  8. Hi, everyone! I'll jump on the bandwagon and thank all of the generous boardies, who have been giving us their TAT info. It has been a real sanity check as I await news on the 300+ books that I have in the chute. Please, Please, PLEASE - If possible, can we start to get additional payment information, as convenient? With so many getting pressed and graded, I'm trying to juggle my finances to ensure that I will always have enough to cover the fees. However, CCS/CGC do not seem to have a uniform method of billing that allows the customer to time their bank balances with pending charges. This was confirmed by their customer service reps, who I spoke to, who have no idea how the billing is actually supposed to work. If we get some anecdotal data in here, then future customers can at least get a feeling for when the bills will come due. LAST NOTE: I got a call from CGC customer service that my credit card-on-file had expired and I was in danger of a declined payment, which would lead to my books getting even more stuck in the system. I called back to give my new card info and the new rep was confused, because I had the unused credit for re-upping as Elite...I never should have been in danger of a missed payment. Moral of the Story: Check whether you have a credit with CGC, because they won't and they'll charge you without deducting it automatically.
  9. For anyone who is still wondering. This is the best con of the year. I'm currently in my hotel room getting ready to take my GF for her first time...the excitement is building! The pandemic really stole a lot from us...two years of community...the Heroescon volunteer manager passed away due to COVID, as well as so many other loved ones. Let's all have a great weekend together and remind each other why we're still here. Now that things are starting...Reports from the floor?
  10. Great cover, wonderful interior art and exciting, stand-alone story. But doesn't UXM 205 full into the semi-key category for Origin and 2nd App of Lady Deathstrike?
  11. A bit too risque to give to a young reader, but I get your point. I think this is the only copy that I've come across - and it was nearly flawless.
  12. I didn't want to believe that it was true. I checked multiple sites to make sure that it wasn't a hoax. Chadwick Boseman will be remembered as a great actor who played a great character and then went on to exemplify the traits of that character in his real life. He will also join Heath Ledger as an actor who truly set an image of his most beloved character in stone and then left us wondering what more they could have done. This year that has taken so much from us has shown us that it can still steal so much more. Your loss will be felt for quite some time, Chadwick.
  13. Six PP1 in 9.8 from one submission??? Whoa!! Dang! What is that, like 3% of the total census? Pretty cool. I look for them everywhere too, and have a small stack. But finding them without at least one not pressable ding is an SOB. I agree they will shoot through the roof if/when the property is finally used. Thanks!
  14. I was a huge Power Pack fan back in the 80s. I read the entire run and still have my fingers crossed for an winning MCU version. I just saw on the census that there are only 191 cgc-9.8-graded copies of PP1. What does the committee think...for a book that is going for $200-$400, would that be a sign of rarity? It seems like there were a lot of issues printed and available for sale. That black cover is nearly impossible to find without color-breaking crease or ten. So, the question is: if a movie gets announced tomorrow, will there be no supply to meet the inevitable supply? Will I be kicking myself for not buying one right now for $275-350? On the topic of the thread - I was shocked when I saw a couple of these selling between $300-$400 last year.
