Where do you think this should have landed at? I wasn't aware of the previous sale but thought it was worth 35k

The Official Commission Collecting Thread
Captain ShipWreck replied to easyt63's topic in Original Comic Art
Not much of a commission collector, but this is my favorite piece I've commissioned. Cthulhu by Jonathan Wayshak. Size is 11x17 and was done a few years back. Jon liked it so much that he eventually made it into prints, shirts and I believe some promo stuff. -
Comunication problem with Cadence Comic Art
Captain ShipWreck replied to Xouman's topic in Original Comic Art
To follow up on my previous comment. About 5 weeks ago I ordered a cover from Paolo. He was very responsive for a couple of days when I wanted to purchase the piece, but after payment was made it was radio silence on when the art would ship. After 3 weeks of sending an email a week, I contacted the artist for advice. I was suggested to do whatever I felt was needed to receive the art or money back. At the 4-week mark I opened a PayPal claim for a full refund. It took the full 7 days without any fighting or prolonging the claim from Paolo's end. This afternoon was the 7th day of the claim being opened with PayPal siding with me. The artist said if they receive the art back from Cadence I can purchase it from them. If that ever happens I'll do another update. -
Comunication problem with Cadence Comic Art

Bought a piece last week from them. Hasn't shipped out yet but I'll keep you posted when I get it. -
Thank you! The timing was perfect and I live in a smaller tourist town so prices weren’t insane yet. My neighbor, who has a similar layout to mine, just sold theirs for 140k more than what I paid. If I were in the market today it would have been practically impossible without selling off some of the best pieces in my collection.

I had a similar issue but as the seller. A few years back I sold a book registered mail through my local PO. It took two weeks to go from Georgia to Texas and then disappeared. After a week with no updates, I opened a claim. After four more weeks with nothing updating, the buyer drove three hours to the last place it was scanned. Turned out the package was sitting there but was flagged because it wasn't initially marked correctly at my PO. Instead of marking it in their back-end intranet system as being held, that location just put it to the side. If the buyer never drove to that location it probably wouldn't have been "found". This was the last time I used registered mail.

It does. I ended up with a Bone #1 from the Kickstarter because someone backed out.

Ah. Sorry about that. Maybe we just talked about what we were going for that night. The piece went high, something like $700. I missed out on the two pieces I was after too.

I might be remembering this wrong but didn't you win the charity piece at Heroescon this year as well?

Heroes Con 1994 program back cover/ 2023 front cover. Jeff sent a drawing in a reply letter saying he would do the show and they could use this image for the program. I've spoken to the owner about it once a while ago and I believe it was a pencil sketch he had inked by a few different artists. The other is a cover from the Bone run. It was gifted years ago when Bone was still coming out.

out of curiosity, is this piece one of the two pieces Jeff gave as gifts to convention organizers?

I picked this up a couple of years ago. This was Mike’s second attempt at a promo image (team drawing being the first) and drawn right after the Dimepress cover.- 142 replies

Thank you! I hope you got to see it when we had all the slabs. It was a cool couple years when are walls were just major keys. Thank you but it's back up for sale. The previous buyer bought it for his son as a gift, but it was the wrong SOTI book he was needing.

Just looked and it's clearly the same book. I did an art deal a couple months ago and this book was part of the deal since he didn't have all cash. I'm guessing the guy bought it off Snyder at some point and it just never got removed. I rarely use this but if you need a reference from me I've been the manager of Mountain Man Comics since 2014 and our feedback is very solid.
