  1. Beware of chasing that Kid Flash down... I discovered he was quite a rare MEGO, and he commands $$$, even loose and missing gloves or boots.
  2. I have now gone down the MEGO "rabbit hole" much deeper than I ever would have wanted to... You definitely did NOT see a "The Flash" MEGO in the 70s, as MEGO doesn't appear to have ever made him, although you will find hoards of fake "re-production" Flash MEGOs??? How do you re-produce something that was never produced to begin with? That said, Kid Flash remains the only Speedster MEGO ever showed any love towards. He was released in 1977 as part of the Teen Titans retailer assortment. I found the 1977 Retailer Order Form, it appears as the first line of the Super Heroes collection. So, I will say now with my best certainty, that yes sir, you do posses the first "The Flash" figure. The 1984 Kenner Super Powers Collection Flash. A great piece of Flash History!
  3. I really like the polka-dot later printings, they just accentuate the craziness of the character!
  4. Thanks for sharing, some gems in there! I see I'm not the only one with McDonalds Captain Cold!!! I also spy your Eagle Moss, I have nearly a full Flash and Villains collection I'll have to share in a future post. I believe the first action figure had a function, like squeezing the legs made the arms move, does your do that? There were a few Flash MEGOs in the 70s. I believe the below, Kid Flash, was the first ever Flash toy, as Barry Allen's MEGO came later. As far as my favorite Flash figures go, they are the more recent Infinite Heroes figures from 2008-10. They had so many cool combo packs and featured Jay, Barry, Wally, and loads of villains.
  5. I assume Grodd asserted mind powers to earn his place in your photo!
  6. Anyone have a spot in your home that you consider to be your “Flash Shrine”? I have a small dedicated space that I rotate comics and statues through. I’d love to see yours…
  7. I haven’t lived in Connecticut since 2013, but a quick google map walk down memory lane seems to indicate Wright’s Barn and Flea Market… So closer to Torrington than Granby, but I remember driving through Granby on my way from Windsor to get there. I believe the vendor with the comics had posted on Craigslist, which is why I ventured out there in the first place. If you’re specifically hunting comics, I’d call ahead, as that vendor might not be around anymore. Happy hunting!
  8. SAY! I LIKE COMIC BOOKS MY FRIEND! I DO! I LIKE THEM, SAM-I-AM! AND I WOULD READ THEM IN A BOAT. AND I WOULD READ THEM WITH A GOAT... AND I WILL READ THEM, IN THE RAIN. AND IN THE DARK. AND ON A TRAIN. AND IN A CAR. AND IN A TREE. THEY ARE SO GOOD, SO GOOD, YOU SEE! SO I WILL READ THEM IN A BOX. AND I WILL READ THEM WITH A FOX. AND I WILL READ THEM IN A HOUSE. AND I WILL READ THEM WITH A MOUSE. AND I WILL READ THEM HERE AND THERE. SAY! I WILL READ THEM ANYWHERE! I DO SO LIKE READING COMICS MY FRIEND! THANK YOU! THANK YOU, SAM I AM.
  9. Pulled a Batman Adventures #12 and Mad Love One Shot out of a 4-for-$1 bin at an antique barn outside Granby, CT in 2012. #12 is Long gone now, in fact, I sold it in less than a week for $600. Mad Love is still kicking around in my random long box though…
  10. He is quite the personality… He asked me if I wanted a sketch on my book… When I replied: “I am happy with just your signature”, he responded: “Just A Signature! What, I’m not good enough to draw on your book?”
  11. Do what you want to what is yours I suppose… Personally, yes, seeing this made me cringe… Stan Sakai is my hero, and I’ve had him sign and remark dozens of books for me, but NEVER would I have him sketch all over the cover of my Albedo #2… As for Kevin Eastman, no ill feelings from me… However I value far more the books signed by the other TMNT creator…
  12. Call me shallow I guess… but that index finger haunts my dreams, and ruins an otherwise bombshell cover for me!
  13. Did someone say toys? My 1999 Jack in the Box Flash had to wait a decade for a proper fast food nemesis, this came in the form of 2011 Happy Meal Captain Cold!
