  1. There is another lengthy thread in this forum where this subject has been beat to death. Could we please avoid bringing into this thread?
  2. Catching up. FF #39 is one of my favorite FF covers!
  3. Amazing Spider-Man #14 CGC 6.5 from an IG user:
  4. There is a company that competes with CGC that does signature verification. Unfortunately, decorum prohibits listing them here.
  5. Fantastic Four Annuals #1 - #6:
  6. Fantastic Four Annual #6 CGC 8.0 from Heritage Auctions:
  7. Fantastic Four Annual #6 CGC 8.0 from Heritage Auctions. There is an interesting story behind this purchase that has both good news and bad news. If you check on Ebay, the prices for this book are extravagant, with prices ranging from $1,950 to $549.95 plus tax and shipping. Fantastic Four Annual 6 CGC 8.0 in Comic Books & Memorabilia for sale | eBay So a few weeks ago, a seller on Ebay offered this book to be for $475, plus $19.95 shipping plus $33.25 in tax. I thought about this for a while, but by the time that I decided to pull the trigger, the book had sold. A week or two later, I saw this book up for auction on Heritage Auctions. The current bid was quite low, so I put a bid in for $310, and low and behold, I won the book. With the buyer's premium and shipping and handling, the cost of the book ended up being $415.04, which is still less than the cheapest book on Ebay. This was the good news. The bad news is that I paid more for the FF Annual #6 CGC 4.5 that I purchased several years ago than I paid for this CGC 8.0 copy. Oh, well....
  8. As Bob Dylan so eloquently put it, "Ah, but I was so much older then/I'm younger than that now."
  9. I picked up these three books from Ebay. They were from Tony Isabella's personal collection. Hawkman #3 graded 7.5, Hawkman #8 graded 8.0, and Hawkman #10 graded 7.5. I just need Hawkman #4 in CGC 7.0, and I will have the first 16 appearances (BatB #34 - #36, BatB #42 - #44, and Hawkman #1 - #10) of SA Hawkman, all graded 7.0 or higher.
  10. I know this doesn't belong here, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I purchased an Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.0 from @Professor K. I know that most of you, including me, rarely visit the Bronze Age Comic Books forum. Check it out here.
  11. I understand the concept of "different strokes for different folks," but this is one of my all-time favorite covers and stories.
  12. The book has been sold to @ArcaneMallard. Thanks to everyone who looked at this thread!
  13. I would just like to say, "Thank you!", to everyone who offered their sage advice. I put a down payment of $1,500 on the IG book; I will have two additional payments to make at the end of the month and the middle of next month. I won't have to pay any sales tax or shipping fees.
  14. I recently purchased this book from @Professor K: Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.0. I cannot begin to thank @Professor K enough for this purchase. First, he allowed me to purchase this book using time payments; I would have never been able to afford it otherwise. Second, he meticulously planned for everything, going as far as providing me the name of friend who could complete the deal in case of his death. Third, his communication throughout the whole transaction was superb. Four, he had the book packaged so well that I honestly believe that it would have survived a nuclear explosion.
  15. Recent pick-up from Ebay: Fantastic Four Annual #4 CGC 8.5.

  17. You pretty much hit the nail on the head. Unless I am subbing for a math teacher, I'm pretty much just a glorified baby-sitter.
  18. Sold to @ArcaneMallard! While I was subbing on Monday, I did a little research, and here's what I found: Here are the last ten sales according to GPA. Unfortunately, I don't know if any of these books have White pages, OW/W pages, OW pages, CR/OW pages, or CR pages.. It's cheaper than anywhere that you can purchase online by $350. White pages are considered more valuable than other page colors. I think that this is a very fair price.
