I woke up one day thinking I was King of the CGC chat forum. Then, I discovered it was only a dream. Will my dream ever come true?

  1. I didn't know that was a thing...Hmmmm, might have to update the Christmas list. Thanks for showing me this. -RKSM
  2. Yeah, they are pretty much the style same book but I have the orginals and I have to have these as well. It's not about resell value, it's about having "all of them" in the collection. Stuff comes in and it goes into "The Collection" Even if I buy something with the intention of reselling it for a bit of a profit, I just end up keeping it. Having it brings me more joy than selling it ever would. I can understand why DC wants to look back though, the current Superman books struggle to tell a decent story and the art is pretty bad with "artists" turning in rough sketches and calling it a style. (See Action Comics, Last Azreal series for examples) To me, if I could draw it with my wrong hand that's also fractured, it shouldn't be getting published. There is a lot wrong with current books that make many wish for the WAY better days of the 1990's. -RKSM
  3. Yeah, I'm a sucker for their marketing. Marking the 30th year of something that I was around for when it actually happend. I'm not a fan of the price tag per book but no one said that collecting comics made sense. I'm buying variants raw and getting them CGC'd in my next shipment. Hoping for high scores but you never know, I've been getting a lot of 9.6's on books that I was sure would be 9.8's. Thanks for sharing the Link. -RKSM
  4. So it's been 30 years since the Return of Superman storyline, DC continues to milk the start of the 90's Golden Age of Comics for all it's worth with this most recent release. As they marked the Death and Reign anniversary issues already. So who is picking this up? I'm buying the main plus variants but I have to say I'm a little annoyed at the $15.09 CND price tag per issue. But as they say you have to pay to play. I'm planning on sending an issue or two off to get CGC'd hoping to get a 9.9 score just because I have never submitted a book and had it returned with that score. -RKSM
  5. A quote I always remind myself of when I'm waiting for books to come back. 'The soufflé will either rise or it won't — there's not a damn thing you can do about it, so you might as well just sit back and wait and see what happens." -Captain Benjamin Sisko -RKSM
  6. Great idea, but I think that opening a location in Toronto would be ideal. LOL -RKSM
  7. You have to keep a sense of humour when it comes to selling stuff on Ebay. Yes, lowball offers can be annoying but at the same time it's part of the song and dance What bothers me is when people post a low price on Ebay but then jack up the shipping and handling cost to get the actual price that they want for the item/book. -RKSM
  8. At least you're getting "Grader notes" I had a book rated 9.0 with zero notes as to explain why it was graded that way. CGC just doesn't seem to care anymore. -RKSM
  9. I check every single day. The moment of hope that today is the day then the let down is worth the fees alone. -RKSM
  10. I'm not an expert but I think you should be fine if you store your slabs in a cool and dry area that is away from direct sunlight. If you are worried about scratches or scuffs on the plastic I would put them in an unsealed plastic bag with peices of thin foam between each CGC graded book. You should also take extra care whenever you are moving or handling the books. As someone mentioned above if CGC offered a special UV protective option that would be awesome. Anyway, I hope this helps. -RKSM
  11. CLZ is an excellent app that works with GoCollect but they have been having some issues with updates, etc so GoCollect might be going bye bye. Anyways, my advice drop the $1.99 per month for the CLZ subscription. It makes your collecting easier and it's a record of your collection if anything happens to it. -RKSM
  12. Good idea, maybe that way one day I can spend all my time on here just like you. No wait on second thought I would rather still be able to see my toes.
