  1. I'm a 'late bloomer' to appreciating Russ Heath's artwork. The man was quite good! This cover is no exception.
  2. I just discovered this cover the other day and....jeez, is it grisly. I'm sure you've all seen it before, but I wanted to share how freaky this image is to me. Btw, is this considered a 'headlight's cover?
  3. WOW, that's a lot of Spidy! No doubt!! Those were my two favs of the bunch! ComicBubba, where did you get that rooftop Spidey?
  4. I'm at Horrors of It All each morning reading the latest posted story. Today's has especially great artwork!
  5. That cover is pure awesome. I'd never seen it before. Very nice!
  6. Wow, Scrooge! Love those forward facing shelves in your reading room. Your reference collection looks a lot like my TPB collection (drooling over the Spirit Archives. Is that Plastic Man and Blackhawk nearby?) I someday long to bring my collection outta the garage and into my office. If only, they children would get a little older and more responsible!
  7. This is an awesome cover. Love the detail on the spotlight
  8. Awesome... Keep 'em coming... Keep 'em coming...
  9. Ah sweet. That was my first Miller Daredevil issue. Bought it at Safeway off a spinner rack. Sigh. Great memories. Nice book!
  10. That's a neat book there. Looks like they are trying to merge SciFi/Crime/Western genres all into one title! The art and story is really good. I like finding odd comics that no one has ever heard of or seen!!! The book is by Mick Anglo creator of Marvelman or to most of us Miracleman. Actually, I would love to find some more issues! Awesome! Mick Anglo? Never heard of him. His last name is nearly identical to mine! Need to Wiki him or something... I totally want one now. That is awesome. Whoah. That is awesome indeed.
  11. Oh lord, don't tell this movie's lead character is a comics fan?!? I haven't seen this film. Why is this sterotype continually reinforced? Tis sad. Comics are a lot cooler than that!!!! Tis sad. ~ Kamandi, who's happily married, but sometimes feels like he never 'gets any' thanks to his three kids keeping him and his wife busy, busy, busy....and tired.
  12. Funny, I just photographed my collection yesterday and posted on another forum site. Here is my TPB/Graphic novel collection. The room? My garage:
  13. Oooooh, nice! Thanks for the tip. The story was provided here in this thread some months ago. Just wondering where it went.
  14. Just do yourself a favor and buy a copy! One of the best horror stories from ANy age, me fiendish friend! No need! Found the story in b&w in Showcase Presents: House of Mystery Volume 2 ! Whoot! I scanned all pages and have provided them on Amazon for curious consumers. http://www.amazon.com/Showcase-Presents-...0835&sr=1-1
  15. Hey all! Just wondering if anyone has those color scans of The Demon Within from House of Mystery 201?
  16. Who is the artist on these covers? They're great! What's up w/ the bottom chicken? Why is she so happy to see the pail???
  17. I voted EC as this is the only one I have a lot of experience reading. But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in those other companies. Besides, DC, Have they been reprinted in other editions? I've bought a set of Tales Too Terrible To Tell & Terrorology and have always enjoyed that reprint series. Great stuff! Comicdey, I've never seen those top two covers! WOW. Gorgeous!
  18. Who is the artist on these covers? They're great!
  19. Mica, so ... strategic earrings positioning or not? I assumed they were straps holding up her dress. Me too. My word that is an awesome cover, though. Another example of why I enjoy visiting this site. What must've it been like as a kid back in the day and have titles like this in drugstores? Me too. Wow.
  20. There were two series and both were pretty cool. The creatures in those books seemed very Basil Wolverton inspired to me: The World Below and The World Below: Deeper and Stranger Yeah! I've got both series in one of my many comic boxes. Thanks. Btw, great sig picture!
  21. I don't think I've seen that before. It is strange -- but in an interesting way! Yeah, that IS a great, weird cover. I want to read it now! For some reason it reminds me of Paul Chadwick's side project away from Concrete. What was that series called? Where the characters go beneath the earth? for coolness. A very nice book with the black cover and one of the few for which the left-side bars add to the overall "terror" feel. Wow. That totally deserved a bump. Colan is such a distinct style and I've never seen any of his early work. Thanks!
