  1. First off, excellent comic! Def one I am still hunting for (love me some Stevens art) Second, the fact that tape touched it does not make it a VG. The slight tape pull I have seen before. Hurts it a bit. I am at 9.0 with the pull but would not be surprised with even a 9.2. No way they ding it hard enough to hit a Fine (I have seen silver and bronze books with larger front cover pulls grade out at 6.5). Finally, is there anything that can be done? Nope. Enjoy the book. Unless you are really bothered by it then sell it and find another I guess but personally, that would bother me not at all and I would enjoy that sucker!
  2. As is, 5.0-5.5. I think a clean and press could really freshen this one up and have it be closer to the 6.0-6.5 range for sure. Dare I say, even a 7.0
  3. Yes I gathered that but then there were a number of posts about rules being posted at 5/6PM Central....I am game for waiting, I just didnt want to miss it if it were posted somewhere amongst the madness!
  4. Yes...because I haven't found them yet.... but I am still intrigued here.
  5. Are you grading because you love it? If so, go for it. And have it pressed and cleaned for the best displaying copy for your PC! Are you grading it to sell it? If so, it sits around an 8.0 for me. They sell for around $60-90 depending on the day. After grading and pressing, you could make a small profit. If you get a bump to an 8.5 or a 9.0, that would help. These are the factors you must weigh.
  6. This applies to my feelings about this entire thread. I like it. Not sure why...or what is to come...but I will join? Yes?
  7. The rules! 1. PayPal only for payment please! 2. First claim gets it! I do take offers though via DM 3. Unhappy with what you got? Send it back in the same condition that it arrived within 30 days and I will refund your amount in full, plus the cost to ship it back to me. Shazam 28. Lower grade. The biggest flaws are 20c written on the cover and a stain that oddly enough only affects the first interior page. I took a picture for reference. The spine has light wear, there are also light creases. I am calling it around 3.0 for good measure. Asking $65USD shipped. Open to offers! Thanks for looking. If you have questions or want more pictures please let me know!
  8. Amazing Spider-Man 34. 9.0 range. Back to the Future 11. 9.4 range. Bizarro 1. 8.5 range. Birds of Prey 1. 9.0 range $2 each
  9. Bump A few more here Green Lantern 48. VF+ range. $10
  10. Yeah I think hoping for Fine or better would be a bit much. I would still put the money into improving it with a good clean in press. You would be surprised. I have seen some books that looked like yours get turned into 7.0 range books, and that was against what most thought it would pull. So its possible but I tend to think is the exception, not the rule when it comes to looking for a bump from pressing/cleaning. If a book warrants it and has the right correctable defects, a good clean/press I think should be expected to bump minimum 0.5 and max 1.5 grade. Anything more is gambling and I wouldnt do that.
  11. Gearing up for the movie or just a big Eternals fan?
  12. I collect in relative solidarity. I have a couple guys in the city where I live that I visit to buy/sell/trade stuff with. None have ever been to my home. A colleague/friend who collects some comics and GI Joes is gonna come check out my collection, since he invited me over to see his already. As for non-collecting people and family, they are not likely to see the stuff over the holidays. My brother and dad enjoy seeing a few things from time to time that I have bought but it is not a big interest for them (although I always let dad read a couple of the GI Combat or Sgt Rock comics I have acquired as he read these when he was a kid). My mom and sister don't care. My extended family likely won't go into the basement when visiting as there is room to host on the main floor. So basically its my little secret. I am also hesitant to let too many people know how many books I have and let too many people see. Just want to be safe. Plus, I am not someone who feels a need to show off. My friend who is coming to see it expressed interest which is why I invited him over but if no one else asks, I am content with them knowing that I have comics and thats that.
  13. I'll venture 6.5-7.0. I love stuff like this. Uniqueness in the form of factory errors are cool. Miscuts, double covers, inks that are off colour. I love it all!
  14. As it sits, I see 3.5-4.0. Looks like lots of potential pressable problems could boost into the 5.0 range.
  15. 9.8 candidate from my eyes. 9.6 seems almost a guarantee. If less, I missed something on these pics.
  16. I think a 6.5=7.0 is possible even with that stain. Sucks though as I think it has 8.5-9.0 potential otherwise
  17. Beautiful book, even with the large number and variety of defects. I think a 3.0 would be the highest on this, just because of how rough the spine is and the amount of creases. if those creases were not there or small, easily in the VG range but 2.5-3.0 is where I feel safe on this one.
  18. If Stan Lee had something to do with the book, I do not care if it is low or high grade with a signature. It would be wicked cool either way. What I dislike is Stan Lee's signature on stuff he had a limited role on. Like ASM #300 or anything from the late 80's to now. I don't see the connection other than yes, he invented Spider-Man but he did nothing for that particular issue. I guess that is where I get particular with signatures. I don't want a signature on a book unless the creator had some sort of interesting or direct connection to it.
  19. I am also around 5.5-6.0 tops. Still a solid grade on an annual like that just because those squarebound ones are hard to find in decent shape. Mine is a little rougher with some colour loss on the bottom edge but I am thankful the spine is not split
  20. The staining puts it in the 3.0-3.5 range. Likely the 3.5. I would be surprised if it pulls 4.0 or above only because of how big the stain is.
