  6. The rules! 1. PayPal only for payment please! 2. First claim gets it! I do take offers though via DM 3. Shipping is $5USD for 1-2 comics, $7USD for 3-4 comics and then $15USD for anything five comics or more. As I live in Canada this is the cheapest options I have. The first two do NOT have tracking but if you want tracking for any number of comics it starts at $15USD and goes up when you hit around 10 books. I’ll consult you on your preference once you have claimed a book. 4. Unhappy with your books? Send them back in the same condition that they arrived within 30 days and I will refund your amount in full, plus the cost to ship them back. Lets sell some comics shall we!
  7. Here is my raffle donation. A healthy mix of old and new.
  8. Thanks all! I am thinking of going for the signature and keeping it raw. I will also get a COA with it for John Romita's sig. The place I am considering sending it to is The Comic Monster in Fredericksburg, VA. They seem very legitimate and helpful. Just want to double check if there are any people here who have bought or submitted through them before. Thanks again for the feedback!
  9. A buddy gave me this! Admittedly, I do not collect a ton of toys. I have a handful of 90s Animated Spidey stuff because I loved the show as a kid. I have a He-Man figure, a M.A.S.K. vehicle and several figures and a couple other random things. I would not call myself a GI Joe fan but the graphics are just too good.
  10. Another question, stemming from my topic on rarest signatures from comic creators... As I posted, I have a copy of ASM #97 signed by Stan Lee and Gil Kane. The Gil Kane sig was a find when I purchased the book. It was sold to me without being advertised as having the signature, it was there when I got it and from some internet research (makes me an autograph pro now dontcha know), I am 98% sure it is his. Four years ago, I sent the copy with a friend to the Fan Expo in Toronto (Stan's last Canada con I believe, or at least it was advertised as that at the time) and he had Stan sign it for me as a wedding gift (I did not want it graded because well, I wasnt big on grading it then). I am 100% sure it was signed by Stan Lee as I have the certificate and photo proof from my friend. Now, I want John Romita to sign it. I have an opportunity (or two) for this. My question is would you have it signed raw or should I slab it, knowing I will get a qualified yellow label? I am unable to do this in person but as I mentioned, have two wonderful avenues to submit the book to be signed. I am just torn what to do. I want it to be the most authenticated it can be. On one hand, grading it guarantees the Romita sig and likely stats "Stan Lee written on cover" on the CGC label. However, I am unsure if they would notate the Gil Kane written on the inside. It would also suck not to be able to see that signature again if it is sealed. On the other side, I could have 3 signatures on it raw, great for my viewing pleasure and others but way down the road, should my son or future children need money or support or inherit them, will a couple paper COAs hold up as well? I am really torn because I would be excited both ways but at the same time, saddened in both scenarios. I want to protect the book....but I also enjoy viewing it. Thoughts?
  11. Do they have events or signings with Romita often?
  12. I would love to have Romita sign it too but I have no idea where he goes Con wise and if he or whoever represents him would sign something if I were to submit it. Would just be for personal joy and appreciation.
  13. a couple hundred only is somewhat rare to me. Less than 100 would be what I’m considering the rarest. And I don’t mean they have to be CGC verified. Obviously some creators signatures were done before CGC Signature Series existed. Or CGC at all existed. Here is my Gil Kane sig. The story? Bought on eBay in 2004 or 2005. Guy said in his description that someone had written in the margins. I messaged to ask what and he said “some name, appears to read Gil Kane”. I told myself “likely a kid wrote it copying the name from inside but what if it was real?”. Guy sent a pic and I saw it and was like “damn I think that’s real”. Was a new seller, said he came across the books belonging to a family member. I was 18 at the time and stoked I could potential own a copy of this book signed by an artist I loved. Plus the price was priced as though the signature didn’t exist so I bought it. Oh and I since had it signed by Stan.
  14. Is Gil Kane's rare? I have one....at least I am 99% it is him. I will share pics and my story when I am home.
  15. Did he never attend cons or refuse to sign stuff? I am unfamiliar with him outside of being able to recognize his work on various books.
  16. Curious what some of the rarest signatures are. Which artists/creators just were not around or did not sign stuff ever? I know Ditko signed very very VERY few comics....but I feel his signature is plentiful enough as people often have written replies from him with his signature. What about someone like Marston? Is there anything known to have been signed by him? What others have you never seen or only ever seen a handful of?
  17. Some smudgy marks or something along that spine...for me, I am at 9.0 with the potential at a 9.2 Those black flecks in the middle of the books are likely part of the printing process. Maybe you could claim it as some sort of bizarre variant, as people tend to do, and make a fortune off it. One of a kind
  18. Those aren't creases though...poster said they were tears. I would be a bit surprised if a book with tears that large would grade that high. For me, I am at 4.5-5.0 because of the tears. If those were not present, this book is easily in the upper Fine, lower VF range.
