  1. Spider-Man Super Special 1. Part of the Planet of the Symbiotes run. 8.0-8.5. $4
  2. Hi all. Some books for sale tonight. Here are my simple rules: 1. Payment through PayPal only please 2. Shipping is $5USD for 1-2 comics, $7USD for 3-4 books. Anything 5 and above is $15USD. Please note that as I live in Canada I ship regular mail. Unless you prefer tracking which I will do without hesitation. It just costs $15USD even for one book. So just talk to me and I will ship however you desire:) 3. First claim gets it. Offers always welcome. 4. I try to under grade. If you want more pics just ask. If you get the books and hate em, let me know and we can work it out. If you are like “hmm I have never bought from this guy, I would like a reference”, well I just sold a Hulk 180 to Parker1966 so feel free to ask him how it all went:) And so...here we go!
  3. 1.0 from me. Lots of colour loss to it and pieces missing from the covers.
  4. Suggestion...dont give a grade you think as this could sway people to just agree with you. Bottom looks like there is splitting. Spine has some heavy wear, especially at the staples. As a conservative grader, I would be around 3.0-3.5 but I have been known to be too light sometimes.
  5. Yes. Thats generally how I value books or get a sense of what is moving, how often and at what price.
  6. For example, a CGC 6.5 of WWBN #32 sold back in October for around $555. A UK sold around the same time for $533. More recently, though a CGC 9.4 WWBN sold for $3450. A UK CGC 9.4 of WWBN sold for $3300. So even at a higher grade, it sold for around $150 less.
  7. Don't think it has that ability. Depends on the collector. Personally, I would want one printed in North America and do for most of my comics. However, some books (like this one now) I realize I might not be able to obtain easily so I would settle for a UK variant. Pricing is all over the place. Sometimes they sell around the same value, sometimes less. They are definitely not worth more based on what I have seen.
  8. Now this is interesting! Would suggest that over time, people definitely gravitated towards the cover. See, I have always been someone who picks up random books with cool covers and I guess this trend was not around in the early days of collecting. Perhaps for some but not en mass like it is today.
  9. If its not a comic, it is not a first appearance to me. Is it neat? Sure. Am I going to pay tons of money or even go out hunting for these fanzines or preview mags or whatever they are? No. Not this collector anyway. If you are paying $100 or even $1000 for a picture of Harley Quinn in a kid's book, you crazy. Not a comic, not related. Can you imagine how much someone would pay for a photo of someone back on September 11th, 1992 that snapped a pic of their TV screen on that day Harley first appeared!?!? Ridiculous. But that is one crusty not-so-old collectors opinion.
  10. Suppose Spider-Man appeared in Amazing Fantasy 14, at the end like Wolverine (maybe he is busting onto the scene to stop a crime, and then in Amazing Fantasy 15, we get his full backstory, origin and why he was all of a sudden in our world as a superhero). You cannot tell me that this cover would ever get more love than this? It would get some love, sure. Just like Hulk #180 gets some love. But not the love the cover and first full appearance gets.
  11. This was covered rather exhaustingly a while back....some comic collecting ginger initiated it.... Anyways, here is my thought on it and I cannot be swayed. Hulk #180 is his first appearance. We see Wolverine, it is a full shot, it is part of the main story which is to continue, we know what to call him. Hulk #181 is his first full appearance. He appears throughout the issue and is integral to the entire story. The cut off for a first appearance for me is less than 5 panels. Above that and for me, it is a first full appearance. A character can have a first appearance and a first full appearance in my eyes. Now, as for valuing Hulk 180 and 181. You cannot convince me that Hulk #180 should be more valuable. The cover of #181 is the best. It is awesome, a true battle cover at its finest. The reds, greens and yellows pop and define the core of the Bronze Age IMO. I also discussed ad and prototype appearances too in the prior thread. Neat but for me, they should also not be valued higher than first and first full appearances.
  12. Well whether its eggs, comics or a bird in the hand, it sounds like an interesting box.
