  1. Plus this 4.5 has similar spine wear so that is why I sit where I sit. Send er in though, I wanna see what CGC says https://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-AMAZING-SPIDER-MAN-300-CGC-4-5-VG-1st-app-Venom-Marvel-Comics-5-1988-/163935325724?hash=item262b4e8e1c%3Ag%3ATJcAAOSwFFBdxNDh&nma=true&si=hgMho1t2lk4FKOLV8h2g1xLET%2Fg%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  2. Multiple spine ticks beyond the Fine range. Colour loss near one edge. Two moderately sized colour breaking creases. Back cover has wear, not sure if a clean helps is sharpen up. I looked at some 6.0's of this book and none had the degree of spine wear/ticks that this did and neither had two large corner creases. Thus, as this appears worse, I bumped my grade down. A press and clean could optimize this book but there is a lot going on that keeps it from Fine outright for me.
  3. Yeah I dont so much care about a site that gives values. I more so just want an easy to use database that tracks what I have an is easily accessibly on my phone if I am out hunting
  4. I have done grab bags once, maayybe twice. The first time was when I was in high school. Me and my brother each spent a whopping $10USD plus shipping for a mystery comic from a lot of Spider-Man related comics. Well our two books arrived and I got ASM #252! Or at least, I took that one because I was the bigger comic guy. My brother got ASM #381 as he enjoyed Hulk. I believe that was the only time I ever did a grab bag or mystery lot off ebay. If I did try again, it was maybe once and I spent maybe $20 and got $5 worth. As a non gambler I know that a win does not equal more wins. Its comic gambling. Some of the people selling this way online are offering decent stuff, others are not. Check the comments. If you don't see happy customers, don't buy. And at the end of the day, remember its gambling. You should go into a casino expecting to lose the $50, 100, 200 or whetever you went in with as your gambling amount. And you cannot be upset with these grab bags if you spent $20, 50, 100 for some comics and only get $5, 10, 25 worth.
  5. Some generous boardies on here... I previewed some 5.5 and 6.0 on eBay. Similar spine wear but your copy seems a tad more severe. Plus, a lot of the 5.5-6.0 I am seeing did not have those two big corner creases. I think realistically, 4.5-5.0 at the highest.
  6. Call me sadistic but I want to see a Hulk 181 where the MVS was cut out but someone taped back in the correct stamp. Classify me now you blue slabbing geniuses!
  7. Yeah if I am unsure, I shoot a little high but welcome offers. It's all about what you feel good about. Also, depends on the book and signature. If its a key and a desired signature, you could ask for a fair bit more than just the grade value. If it is something more common, maybe the signature adds $100 or so. Like I said, price it a bit high and see what happens. Then, if nothing is happening, start dropping the price by $25 or so each time you list or post or whatever you do for selling your books.
  8. I am at 6.0-6.5 as is bit think it has 7.0 potential with a press.
  9. For those who care... The book was returned. The guy pressed it only and in doing so, he popped the top staple. This was a lower grade copy to begin with but it should have been a 3.5-4.0 book and now, well maybe 2.5? Plus he is too poor to refund me for damages and stuff. Definitely an amateur, definitely my mistake and one I have learned from.
  10. My book has arrived! Or I should say the parcel that he claims contains my book has arrived. I have to make the trek across the border to get it, hoping to do so this weekend as there are several parcels awaiting me.
  11. I am a raw buyer primarily. I sell to support the collection because, thankfully, there are comics I (GASP) don't like. Slabbing intrigues me. I would like to know the grades of my books and some I would like to see encapsulated. That being said, I enjoy reading them too so its hard to make the transition into the slabbing world.
  12. I can see why Suspense Comics #3 would be hard to find. Seems like a prime candidate for "burning" back in the day as part of the "comics are bad" movement. Why is Amazing Man #26 so hard to find? And is there any data available anywhere on print runs of some of these books?
  13. I don't think anything would be more valuable, but perhaps there is a comic more rare? And I mean a comic that received a legitimate printing. Not a variant or alternate printing or a book with a desirable defect like 16 covers or something. Just a book that was printed, likely in the Golden Age, that copies just do not exist of but is also very desirable. Like is it accurate to say there are between 50-75 confirmed copies of Action Comics #1? Is there an actual count somewhere? And is there a book with fewer confirmed copies in existence that is desired?
  14. Well it was mid grade to begin with. I will send pics of what does return. Supposedly I am getting a few freebie books as an apology. One of them may be Marvel Preview 21, a book he had that I had expressed interest in purchasing but passed on. We shall see... I am confident something is coming as he took a photo of the receipt.
  15. Oh I don’t have anything graded. This was my first because it was a book I was gonna maybe flip but now I might keep it. oh and I just confirmation that they are being shipped back so fingers crossed a safe return by Friday!
  16. Wiser yes. It sucks because it is a book I am unlikely to get a deal on ever again. Having talked to some others on Instagram, he has apparently been very sloppy in the past but books were returned. So I actually do think I will get them back. I still think he should be known because this shouldnt happen to a customer. All I ever ask for is communication. You say you are shipping next day, I expect that. If something comes up and you do not, I expect to be told...I shouldnt have to double check or ask. Customer courtesy 1-0-1.
  17. Yesterday he claimed he shipped it but left the tracking information in his mom's car. I am anticipating that the next line will be that his mother's car got abducted by aliens. But the good news will be they have the license plate for these aliens so perhaps I can contact them? I dunno, the level of amateur here is unlike any I have seen and I feel terribly stupid for not having taken the time to find someone reputable.
  18. I am feeling 6.0, maybe a shot at a 6.5. Mainly due to the wear along the bottom and leading edge, as well as some of the spine ticks.
  19. As is, I am at around 6.5-7.0. Some waviness to the cover and some non-colour breaking marks. Is that colour loss to the top edge? If so that is unfortunate. If it is glare, yay, because this book seems like a press could bump it closer to VF
  20. I will say 3.0 2.0 seems too harsh and 3.5 seems a bit high. That mark is interesting, looks insect-esque
  21. And Happy Remembrance Day to all our Canadian armed forces members who have served and are currently serving! Thank you!
  22. I will be the first to say I would keep B. That ding on the bottom left corner is super noticeable and that is all I can stare at. Sure the centering is a bit better but I think B looks structurally better overall.
  23. Everyone always rains on people's parades but does anyone ever parade on people's rain?
