  1. I know some other threads have a weekly cover contest. No prize (other than bragging rights) but each week a theme or topic is presented, people post pics of their entries and then at the end of the week, we vote. Winner gets to pick the next contest. I can take charge on tallying votes and even posting a new topic once the winner shares what they wish it to be. Any interest in this? Has it been done here? Or do people here already do this on other forums and feel that is enough for them? All thoughts and opinions welcome
  2. Generally if you sell to people here (who arent listed on some naughty or probation list), you will get an easy sale that leaves you and the buyer happy. Again, if you are selling common stuff, people are unlikely to buy. But if you have older stuff in decent shape, you can do well here.
  3. That last round hurt. That All American looked worse to me. Seemed generous compared to research I did. And I dropped my grade on the Invaders. Ugh. Why? I dunno maybe I wanted to be wrong lol. I’m gonna take my time on this one. Perhaps submitting at 9:58 on Friday is the key...
  4. Maybe I am harsh but I would never grade any of those books. As for value, if anyone offered me $10-20 for that lot, I would take it.
  5. Solid 5.0. Love the date stamp! A cleaning could help that back cover, maybe get a half grade bump.
  6. Without the crayon, you are in the 5.0-5.5 range. Lots of minor edge and corner wear. Spine wear and that ink splotch. With the crayon? I dunno, it really is in a rough spot. I would bump it down to a 4.0 personally for that, perhaps even lower.
  7. I mean, Dr. Strange is iconic. But I honestly love this brief design. I dig the all black costume...seems darker and more mysterious. Imagine a modern writer took this and went with it...
  8. I am at 3.5-4.0. The rust and discolouration on that bottom staple keeps it from being higher.
  9. I dropped Stupid me though, I wanted to say 9.2-9.4 on that Kamandi but was like no, I think I am too high. Trust my gut...which is telling me to grab a snack so lets go gut!
  10. Cleaning won’t do anything to the staple. Im at 3.5 I think it’s way to nice for a 2.0-2.5 and have seen rust on 3.0-3.5. Nice book!
  11. Hi all, Book is in VF range. I’ll add more photos tomorrow but the back is clean. Paypal only please. Asking $40 shipped. First claim takes it, offers welcome. Can provide references if needed:) Thanks Eric
  12. If I had $500 to spend and did not want to exceed that, I would find the best raw copy of ASM #50 to buy. If I had $500 to help contribute to a book I want, it would be ASM #129. I would aim to find a nice 7.0-8.0 range raw book and not exceed $900
  13. Or if your name wasn’t already Jack Kirby. Heck I’m sure another one exists. I think they might decline that or have a note on the slab say “Signed by Another Jack Kirby”
  14. I didn’t want to assume so asked the masses. And like a mob of monkeys you threw the fecal matter of knowledge right at me which I appreciate.
  15. Suppose that I am friends with Jane Goodall. Suppose she joins me at a con. Suppose I have my copy of ASM 110 with me. If I walk up to CGC and she signs it while they witness, would they call it a signature series? I realize this is an absurd question but maybe something more realistic like Tom Holland signing a copy of ASM 529 in front of witnesses makes more sense. Would it be a yellow label or are they reserved for artists and creators only?
  16. This applies to me also. Scribbled and garble are one thing. A number one mark or a neatly written date or stamp or something like that is fine. Can’t onviouksy be a 9.8 and shouldn’t be a 9.6 or 9.4. 9.2 works for me
  17. I missed ticks on 29 too! (officially resigns for the day)
  18. I just did! There is! I will blame it on screen glare lol. With that, I will say 7.5-8.0
  19. 29 looks awesome...slight wear mark at top edge keeps it from grading 9.8. I will say 9.4-9.6 30 has more wear. Light corner blunting, couple spine ticks. I will say 8.5-9.0
  20. The spine is the main problem here. Has a decent amount of wear but still an amazing looking copy overall. I think 4.0 is too low. 4.5 might even be. I will range it at 4.5-5.0. I dont think it has what it takes to see the Fine range outright. Maybe a press helps it out in some way....unlikely though.
