  1. That’s what I thought. Wondered if I was too light but guess according to most I am too high
  2. Huh...what is suggesting brittleness? The pages are cover are quite strong. Also, if I were selling it as a VF but it is closer to a FN, I feel that is wrong. Id be upset as a buyer if I bought such a book to get graded and have it come back that. Double Also...unless someone offered me a crazy amount I have no desire to sell.
  3. I will second trimming suspicions... If it is legit and no trimmed at all, I think 3.4-4.0 with the top edge wear, small appearance of spine split at the bottom and staple tear at top staple.
  4. Not really a Doll Man fan. But I want more Golden Age in the collection and this is a decent bondage/female in peril cover. Plus, a great looking car! All for under $35....I am happy
  5. May I ask why so low? Last I knew, printer creases had affects on super high grade books but could easily have a book in the VF range. The colours are sharp, no spine ticks, no staple rust. I am just curious that is all
  6. I often wondered why they didn’t go back to this printing as a way to appeal to those who love it like me! Thanks for sharing about Alterna!
  7. My goal of collecting all the “still 15 cents” covers begins! There are two printer creases, one front and one back. Wondering what this really does to the book.
  8. I personally do not feel bad if I find a valuable book for cheap. We live in a world where the info is easily available. If someone does not want to take the times to find out how much something is before pricing it, that is on them. On the flip side, if they are super happy getting $40 and I am super happy getting a book I would not likely get otherwise because of how much it costs, isn't that a win win still for everyone?
  9. There are still deals to be found... you just have to be super patient and cast a broad net. I secured a lower grade Hulk 180 this way. I’ve also gotten a bunch of lots where I keep 3-4 $10 or more value books and sell the rest to break even and sometimes make a small profit. There are some search tricks to use on eBay to cast that wide net and sometimes find stuff regular searches may not see
  10. That looks like a tear to me on the back top of the spine. 6.0 seems like quite the wham on an otherwise gorgeous book. I will say 8.0-8.5 with that tear. If it is actually just some dirt and can be cleaned, I think 9.2-9.4 is easily plausible.
  11. If only I had a reprint of Youngblood #1....the world could be my oyster!
  12. I think that’s a tad low personally. Ive seen 8.0 books with similar wear. To be safe call it 7.5. Those are small creases.
  13. Looks sweet. So long as the spine not split anywhere i would reckon 6.5 ish with that crease
  14. Yes thanks haha. It is my first ever submission and was sent through a friend who pressed it and subbed for me.
  15. Donated a box of rougher comics and stuff I dont collect to a teacher for their classroom. Grades 3-4 would be using the books. If just one gets hooked, I consider that a win.
  16. My Hulk #180 was send in back in May through the cheapest tier. Still awaiting grading...
  17. I’m not so sure on that either. Pretty sure collectively we can look at 181 and 180 side by side and see it is the superior looking cover. BUYER:”It contains Wolvie on cover for first time!? Awesome! His first full story!? Sweet! He appears at the end of 180? Ok neat but this is his main first story so I want this one. I’ll get the one with his small appearance later. After all it’s only minor.” pretty sure that’s the logic and always has been since the two issues came about.
  18. I consider unnamed first appearances to be actual firsts. Provided you see the character fully so that when you do get a name in the next story or future story, you know enough to say “oh so that’s the characters name from six issues ago”
  19. Come on humour me. Don’t be a lazy boy... If you are sitting on six long boxes of Web 18 and are slowly filtering them out for profit I’m not trying to get in your way. I just think we can call it something more accurate
  20. You avoided my imagined scenario. Again suppose new info was found. By your definition you would label this prior Amazing Fantasy app as first Spiderman Obviously it’s not the case. I’m just using it to explain why I think there’s a flaw in your logic.
  21. Suppose a letter was discovered in Stan Lee’s estate. In in he said that he had plans for a person he wrote about in a prior issue of Amazing Fantasy to AF 15 to become Spider-Man. This character was also of a different race. However his boss said it was ridiculous (thinking of the times) and so he switched it to a New York kid. would that cause you to call this character as the first appearance of Spider-Man? Because that would follow your Venom logic.
