  1. Even with the chunk, I think it could max out around a 7.5. To be safe, I would be at 7.0 though. Love this story arc, still need to get ish 56 for the PC.
  2. The description is not very clear. I would love to help, but you need to write/word it better. Or, as previously mentioned, include a picture.
  3. I think 3.5 is too low and 5.5 too high. I am in the middle on it. 4.0-4.5 for me.
  4. Even with that crease, I think it can still warrant a 7.0-7.5. I think Fine range is too low for this book given how clean it is otherwise.
  5. Photos are a bit dark...hard to tell how much of that back cover is tanned near edges, although it appears to be a bit. Safely, I will say 6.0-6.5
  6. Small grail- ASM 50 Medium Grail- ASM 13 Large Grail- ASM 129 If anyone is selling any or wants to trade for something, let me know
  7. If you are a collector first and looking to try to offset costs of books you want, buy in bulk. I scour ebay daily for people selling comics in bunches or lots. If I find a good deal, I buy it. There is always stuff I don't love and am happy to flip and sell (anything Superman, Green Lantern...most silver age DC for example). Also, there is the issue of condition. Some of the stuff I want is the FN or better. Anything VG, I will sell. And sometimes if I get a book at a good price (like I did once for a copy of DC Presents 28) I sold it. Would have been neat to have but other books take priority. As to how I sell, I sell raw on ebay. If something I really did not want came to me and I thought I could really up the value by grading and selling, I would do it. But for the most part that has not happened for me. I have a back stock of about 3 long boxes worth of books I am still picking through and selling. If I can get more than $2-3 for it, on ebay it will go. Otherwise, I will use local avenues (Kijiji, Carigslist, Facebook, local classifieds) to part with books I don't need but to make sure I am still making a profit. This is how I "fund" my hobby. I dont try to make money, per say, but rather offset my spending on stuff I like. The problem has become I am liking and wanting more and more. I used to just collect Spider-Man....then anything Marvel....then anything Marvel plus Batman...and now, literally anything that I like. Fortunately, there still seems to be enough out there that I am willing to part with to allow my collection to continue to grow.
  8. I’m at 5.0 as is. Looks like there are a lot of pressable defects here. I could see a 6.5-7.0 after pressing.
  9. I absolutely love every single thing about this copy. Words cannot express. Clearly, I am not a collector who wants the high grade or perfect book. This book has been read, it has been loved and it has been cared for somewhat. It has an amazing date stamp. It has the right amount of wear and looks old but all there and great. Okay, enough gushing. Because of the spine roll, staple tears, edge wear, slight tanning/discolouration on the back, spine dings and crease, I am at 3.5 all day. I think it could eek out a 4.0 but the accumulation of defects bumps it down half a grade for me. Perhaps a press cleans it up a bit and gets the 4.0 but I love it as is. Extremely jealous.
  10. I'll take my pages any colour but tan and brittle. Or yellow and stainy.
  11. ^Those giant stain marks on the back don't knock it harder in your eyes? To me, I would personally grade and advertise this as a VG book because of the stains on the back. 4.0-4.5
  12. I am also in the 6.5-7.0 range. Sucks the staples have left those pressure marks. I store my copy of this issue separately (as well as other squarebounders) to prevent too many comics leaning or pressing against it and pushing those thick staples through.
  13. The real answer? Visit youtube for some demonstrations. There are machines that combine heat, very light moisture and pressure to press a comic. The better answer? Zoos expanding their revenue streams by having hippos and elephants sit on customer's comics for extended periods of time.
  14. Thanks all for the validation:) I self graded it at 5.0 too.
  15. ^ I was just about to suggest Eternals! I feel Ms. Marvel was a regular $5-10 book in high grade for a long time and is now consistently $80-100 raw for oa nice copy. Again not as much as SME 15. I am curious about books like Marvel Superheroes 12 or 13...were they ever hot books? Or were they always a bit more due to age and the movies just multiplied that? Could they be had for $15-20 15-20 years ago?
  16. I am at 4.5. Too nice for a 4.0, and that piece missing on the back keeps it from 5.0 for me. Although, seeing as it is Golden Age, I could see CGC being nice and labelling it a 5.0. Without that piece, it definitely creeps darn close to the Fine range.
  17. I’m at a 5.0-5.5 as is but thinking a press could push it into the outright Fine range
  18. Another odd one here. Presents immaculately but upon further inspection, some flaws. Popped bottom staple and a weird ink/oil mark on the back cover. Thoughts are welcome here!
  19. Hi everyone! Here is one I have had for about ten years now. It looks great but there are some odd defects and flaws. First, the small circle marks on Morbius’ crotch. They don’t appear on inside so they are just surface marks. Back cover has some aggressive corner creasing. Wondering where people place this grade wise:)
  20. ^This If that stain on the corner gets removed completely or even noticeably, I want the number of your cleaner/presser! I still think there is too much spine wear and colour breaking creases near some edges to warrant a 5.0 but hey, I have been wrong before! If you wanna preserve a great ish that you bought off the stands back in the day, I say go for it.
  21. I will say 3.5-4.0. Dunno if 4.5 is possible with that stain as it depends how much it bleed into other pages.
  22. Might smooth out that top right corner...sadly, its that small brown mark on bottom of spine that I think might keep this one clear of VF/NM territory, pressed or not.
