  2. The question is whether there's still some type of damage to the fibers of the paper. Maybe the pressing makes them too hard/small to see even if it can't eliminate them 100%. Another question is if CGC treats those issues on a white section of the cover exacty the same as if it was on a colored section.
  3. I just find the short boxes easier to handle. I've had long boxes stacked 2 levels high for decades and never saw a problem with any of the comics stored on the bottom.
  4. Just finished this last night. Fantastic show - can't wait for Season 2! As good as everyone is on this show - Anthony Starr just makes this show,.
  5. One of the tings I did when I wanted to start to learn about the process was to pick up a copy of the Overstreet Grading Guide to Comics. Plenty of cheap used ones on Ebay. CGC standards aren't the same as OS but it's a very good start IMO On the PGM forum, posters often return to the topic they created and post the grade they eventually received back from CGC. Usually they mod the title to indicate a grade has returned from CGC. So you could look at some of those threads to see how the estimates stacked up against the eventually grade Keep in mind though, many times the comic which is posted about has not gone thru a press/cleaning service. Quite often that comic is then pressed/cleaned before going to CGC so the comic can be in better shape than what was originally posted.
  6. You still can make money off those them. Just like with old Presidential or other historically significant figures or ,as mentioned, signed baseballs. There always will be services willing to verify those types of things. There is and always will be a market for that. It's just a matter of increased risk you take on either buying or selling and the effect that can have on prices. CGC isn't removing any of that; they're just offering a service designed to lessen the risk.
  7. lol...you two need to star on some type of message board reality show...
  8. I'd consider taking a Florida vacation so it wouldn't leave my person. That's assuming it's the real deal
  9. They tried to deliver this about an hour or two after I left for vacation last week - just opened it up
  10. Got a small pack of value tiered comics back on 8/10 Invoice date says 04/03
  11. i'd also go along with 7.5 I got my copy decades ago from the back issue from at my local LCS Brought it home to read and found Kirby's sig on the bottom of page 1 From your pics, I only see poss the upper right corner area of back cover which may look like it has some kind of crease in it
  12. Looks like a small crease on the front ULC, a bend of some type on URC. LRC looks blunted, small tic by bar code Back cover has those black marks on the spine, bottom edge by right side has what looks like a small circular depression and possibly another one or two by "its Rick Barry and Dr J" Defects are all small but there are several in total Too many for 9.6 or 9.4 in my guesstimate. So I'll guess 9.0-9.2
  13. Anyone ever encounter something like this before? While we were on vacation my son noticed a delivery confirmation alert for a package he bought through eBay, It was supposed to be held as we have put in a vacation hold but somehow got delivered. When he got home the next day there was no sign of it so we assumed it got porch pirated. He went to our local post office and talked to a supervisor who ended up finding out at the address for the delivery confirmation was our house, but the shipping label was to a totally different address. He had put in for an eBay refund but got denied because a shipper had delivery confirmation proof. When he explained about the difference on the shipping label ,they offered him a courtesy refund if he get them a copy of the police report.
  14. I just looked at completed sales for DC Comicd Presents 26 . I sold one a few days ago and accepted an offer below asking price. I sorted results from high to low and it's in the order of orig asking price. There was no strike-thru on my asking price. The 'IPH' link shows an offer was accepted. So i guess to that infers it was less than asking price.
  15. Good point about it being loaded before the hold order got to them. I've had no one home before for prev packages and the notes they left said after 3 attempts they would return it to sender. I try using their website for delivery reschedule to indicate to hold it but I continually get errors when I try to send it. I called my local USPS and they said it will be held. Prob shoulda stayed home anyway. Was fixing the framing of the crawlspace entry of my M.I.L. shore house and noticed a burning smell. Looked up and saw the cable line casing sparking and burning. Fire and power co came out. Big problem inside power meter which carried the charge down the ground line Comcast attached to the meter box. Siding melted a little too. At least it happened while I was right there rather than several hours later when everyone's asleep. Then no one would ever be signing for my CGC box...
  16. Down the shore for the week. Friday my wife put in a stop mail order for all our names. We left saturday morning. Apparently a few hours later the mailman tried to deliver s CGC package. My son ended up leaving Sunday and when he got home had saw the notice on the door about being unable to deliver Saturday.. The confirmation number shows it coming from CGC
  17. Looks like issues on 3 of the 4 front corners with a few small tics on the spine . Also some type of small crease on right front edge by top of Bill's boot and poss on back bottom edge 8.5, maybe a press helps with those edge creases, not sure.
  18. Well an old plain Batman already kicked his arse, now he can do it again while sitting in a chair. This one's 50% comic related: Battle of the Brie's Brie Larson (Capt Marvel) vs Alison Brie (GLOW)
  19. is that a small water stain above the word 'school' on the back cover? with that rusted bottom staple and the back URC area looking quite pitted, I'd guess 3.0
  20. I wonder if it'd a little too dirty for a 6.0 I'd say 5.5 and agree a cleaning is more needed than a press
