Kon_Jelly reacted to getadeal22 in Torn on whether to CSG these
I have no further interest in letting CSG grade any more of my cards ever. I run on average an 80% average with PSA and BGS getting back gem mint cards. I used the same system for a 50 card bulk order and what came back was about 30% gem mint average. I cannot waste any more money here when I know for certain that the return on my investment will be so much lower. I can wait until the other two open back up to get more cards graded. Why are they so brutal?? I see this company as a waste of time and money because I have yet to sell any of the CSG cards either on Ebay as it seems no one is buying them. This has left a total bad taste and not to mention they took over 6 months to return a 30 day order. Not a happy customer.

Think Jose Uribe when selling your slabs! alot of collectors especially new collectors thought jose uribe was a $2000 card when its a 10cent card, csg our tough graders a csg 10 should be more then a psa 10 so price it like that to start, then go down eventually it will catch on like the jose uribe card or jim edmonds card and ya'll know what im talkin about, dont lowball the slab out the gate itll never go up in value if ya dont price it as so, anythoughts?

If they have a PCI-compliant system they actually don't have your credit card info. The most they can store of the credit card number itself is the last 4 digits, which is why the email in the OP's post asks for the first 3 sets of numbers.

Sent in a 6 card standard order a few days ago... delivered and logged on the same day (11/29). Cards just moved to Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging today (12/2). Things are moving quickly, I'm impressed!

Biggest problem with CSG right now is that they had insanely low bulk pricing to start, and they were quickly flooded with junk cards. Now that those cards are back and in the market, so the market is primarily junk. For instance I keep an eye out for Ronald Acuna cards on eBay, and so many of the cards that have been hitting have been base 2020, 2021, and Topps Now cards - all cards that are super cheap and super common. Hell there's a Donruss 2021 Unleashed card in a CSG 9 listed for $80! That card is barely worth $1 raw.
That's not to say there aren't awesome cards in CSG cases out there, it's just that they are currently overshadowed by the junk. Once that starts to even out I think you'll see perception in the market change.
In my opinion a fast way to make that happen is to stop offering bulk prices without sub-grades. If the minimum price to grade was $22 you'd stop a lot of the $1 cards from being submitted.

I've got a Standard order that is on its way back to me now, scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. It was only 5 cards and part of a larger order, but it's coming back much sooner than I had planned. Here's the journey that it took:
    Received by CSG: 10/19/21
    Scheduled for Grading: 10/19/21
    Grading/Encapsulating/Imaging: 10/26/21
    Quality Control/Finalized: 11/11/21
    Shipped: 11/12/21
That's a total of 19 business days, when the current turnaround time is stated as 67 days. Super happy about that!

Try having your cards sent in bulk when turn around time was 45 days and they are still in g/e/I what horrible service . But psa is gonna open regular subs soon so they will help with some turn around time but not most , this company took on more then they can handle and dose nothing but come up with excuses . I have 6 total bulk orders with this company that I did in a group sub and have got 1 back . We get nothing but the run around from this company and it be nice if they were just open and honest like the competition is .

Yes, this card should have been labeled with the Image Variation designation.  You can send it in under the Mechanical Error service and it will get fixed.

That's your worthless opinion. Please post your LAW DEGREE...yeah,right! The phrase TURN AROUND TIME HAS/IS  being manipulated by a greedy CORPORATION WHO HAS MADE suckers out of everyboby.  So, the 3 months 4/24  to 8/1 Are ZERO DAYS counted in CSG land . WTF Free rein to do as you please CSG!   But, the worst is yet to come. Have you noticed there aren't a lot of CSG 10s in YouTube reveals? In an effort to separate themselves from the rest of the pack (PSA mainly I guess) CSG has come up with these strict (too strict evidently)..we're talking 4 leaf clovers and Unicorns when it comes to a CSG 10 sightings. So, enjoy all your 9s while CSG tries to build it's reputation at your expense.

Bro it's not the hobby shops' fault that they are taking advantage of Panini offering them retail products.

As much as I hate it, this is capitalism in a nutshell. No one wants to seem to say that out loud, but we are witnessing the 3rd phase of capitalism in this hobby right now, where there is huge consolidating at the top (Fanatics etc) and everyone is in a race to buy out everyone else. This is literally what capitalism does. It affected almost every consumable market around the world during the pandemic and just hasn't stopped bc capitalists have figured out there is a lot of money to be made in this hobby IF you come in with money to begin with.

You and I are going to get priced out of this hobby bc of capitalism, plain and simple. It's the same reason that everything else in this country isn't affordable - bc some hot sh*t, sociopathic wacko decides he's the best at something so he sets out to make his company the only game in town. When every resource has been squeezed out of their employees' paychecks, the only way to keep shareholders happy is to increase prices, and with increased prices come opportunities for others. It's the way the system is designed to work. People like you and me, every day people, we're only supposed to be in the system as a way to prop up rich douchebags who wouldn't know empathy if it came up and caressed their face.

That's why it's only an estimate and they don't guarantee turnaround times. It's not wrong, it's the only way they're able to operate. It's not their fault if they received an additional 50,000 cards between when you checked the website and sent your cards in. They aren't psychic.
