  1. A quoted response from CGC to another user doesn't invalidate the complete lack of response to me, a separate paying customer. I appreciate someone got some info out of them but it's open ended and wasn't even supplied to me via an official channel. I stand by my statement and will continue to until I receive an answer to my official inquiry.
  2. Yes, there is. An apology and acknowledgement of the issue along with a promise that they are working to correct it. Sure those are all standard customer service platitudes, which are effectively meaningless until you compare them to just outright ignoring the question and being unresponsive. When that's your point of comparison those empty sentiments can actually mean alot to a customer.
  3. This is the main reason I'm not renewing my membership this year. I'm cool with them being backed up like crazy and having a long turn-around, but if I can't even see my books because you've slipped beyond the capabilities of your system (and I reported this to them a couple months ago, with no response) then I'm out. Hopefully all my books from early last year turn up eventually and I'll cut my loses. I'll buy pre-graded books second hand from now on to avoid the hassle. Make sure you shut off autorenew if you feel the same way..
  4. One of my books has reappeared and is in the grading/quality control stage. So all hope is not lost, but it's still disconcerting to have no eyes on the rest of my order (31 books total) and support hasn't responded to my order inquiry from 2/1. My account is up for renewal but I can't really justify renewing it with this level of service and performance. If anyone out there is of the same mind, make sure you shut off autorenewal.
  5. Has anyone gotten a modern/economy pressed order back recently who can comment on the actual working turn around times? I have books that were delivered on March 29th 2021 and they have now aged out of the CGC tracking system so I can't even check in on them anymore. I submitted a request to support but haven't heard back either... The current estimated turn around, which was much lower when I shipped my books, is 229 days for pressing. From March 29th (only counting "working days") that puts my order at 218 working days... But with no way to track or confirm they've even made it through pressing yet, I kinda doubt they will be back to me by the end of February..
  6. Wow, so at this point there is no tracking/accountability until they leave CCS?.. That's pretty crazy.
  7. Welp, my submissions have finally aged out of the "submissions" page while still stuck in CCS pressing stage... So they are officially over 8 months old with no end in sight. Digging around in my email now to hopefully find the submission numbers so I can check their status... Edit: I found my submission numbers and they aren't matching in the submission search. Is anyone else having that issue, are my orders just in limbo and I should check back later?
  8. Pales in comparison to some of the gems in this thread but: Hellblazer (Vertigo) 1-300 Sandman (Vertigo) 1-75 Hellboy (All of the original arcs) TMNT (IDW) 1-Ongoing ...Marvel Illustrated/Marvel Swimsuit specials 1991-1995
  9. Just for future reference, and keeping in mind the caveats @revat pointed out about changing policies, customer service on the phone just explicitly told me not to try and open either capsule prior to submission (they did point out if the CBCS book was already signed it wouldn't be verified/honored but in my case it isn't). So the answer today 8/18/21 is to keep them encapsulated regardless of the original grading company.
  10. Hey everyone, I have a couple books I'm planning to send in for an upcoming SS event. One is already in a CGC holder and it's my understanding I can leave it encapsulated and they'll crack it for signing and then re-grade, etc (though PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong about that and I do have to crack it/window bag it myself first). My main question is that the second book I'm sending is a CBCS encapsulated book... So what's the deal there? I can't actually pick the Crossover Regrade option after choosing the SS event, so I assume I may need to crack that guy open prior to sending? I'd hate to do so, there's no way I'll be able to actually pack it as safely as just keeping it in the third-party capsule. Any advice from people who have submitted previously graded books for signature is greatly appreciated! We aren't talking about super high value books here and they are both for my own collection, not resale, but both are currently highly graded (9.6 & 9.8) and I want to avoid potentially missing the SS event if they won't crack one or both of the slabs on arrival.
  11. How are you ever going to sell this theoretical book if you don't allow it to be graded or otherwise inspected by the buyer? CGC staff are trained to handle the exact class of item you are referring to, high value potentially delicate comics. Certainly having someone with some training grade the book is better than skipping the CGC process out of fear and instead shipping a raw high-value book directly to a buyer to have their grubby hands flip through it for inspection! That's not even factoring in the actual sale price of a graded vs non-graded book.. You really rely on buyers to take your word for it if the comic isn't slabbed and in the census, and your sale price will reflect that. just my two cents.
  12. Just chiming in that I noticed my orders entered this state as well. None are signature series, but they were originally marked as received back in April and I elected for pressing for them. I'm happy since this suggests they are aware of and working to address the transparency gaps.
  13. Hey guys.. Had a house fire this past Sunday. Everyone is safe but one of the main victims is one of my favorite issues. Raphael #1. It was a graded 8.5 I had up on my wall. Unfortunately it was high enough on my wall that the smoke and heat decimated the holder and, even though the interior capsule stayed sealed against smoke the capsule and the issue itself were seriously rippled and when I cracked open the capsule it ended up lifting ink from the front and rear cover... I'm heartbroken.. In this unique situation, if I do opt to still send it in for grading (it's sentimental at minimum, and even still somewhat valuable if pressed properly) should I be opting for pressing or full fledged restoration service? Thanks for any advice.. My local paper ran a story on the fire, if anyone is interested.. https://www.recorder.com/Fundraiser-started-for-Northfield-family-who-escaped-house-fire-41267401
  14. Perfect, this is exactly what I was looking for thanks! I'm not a seller, I'm a holder, so the turnaround isn't SUPER important to me. I'm patient but still eagerly awaiting any updates and get worried everytime I see the turnaround slip again...
  15. First time submitter, I opted for pressing for my books and I'm wondering if there's actually a "CCS" status? The status explanations are kinda vague about it: Will my order jump from "Received" straight to "Scheduled for Grading" or do they go through a "CCS" status first? Sorry to hijack the thread, but it is ultimately related to turn-around-times...
  16. Hi, I've gotten the same canned response from email support for the third time and I'm frustrated to say the least. Please, PLEASE consider allowing existing orders that are inventoried and sitting in "Received" status to have items upgraded to signature series if there's an event that comes along. So far, while my order is sitting in your Sarasota warehouse, I've missed out on the signings by Kevin Eastman, Skottie Young, and now Jim Lee... It's killing me knowing I've got great books already in your hands that could just hop into a different queue and get that epic yellow SS label instead of blue... I'm more than happy to pay the signing fee, express processing fee (I've already paid for pressing as well). It's a terrible customer experience to see these chances slip through our fingers because we simply don't have access to our books... You do have access. So please let us take advantage of that. Off myself alone you've missed out on $910 extra dollars on items I would have had signed by those three creators above. I can't be the only one experiencing this. It's bad business. With my books sitting in your hands for months, and expected to continue sitting for months, I'm sitting here worried about who else I'm going to miss out on.
  17. Just posted back to let everyone know my order (which arrived at the PO Box on 3/23 has popped up and is officially received by CGC as of today 4/26. So anyone with submissions around that time, keep the faith your time is nigh!
  18. Hmm, that's concerning for me.. Since mine showed up sooner and I haven't seen any updates on the site/my order isn't listed yet.. Did you get pressing and did you pay for express or just normal modern submissions? Seperately, if I opted for CCS pressing, does that mean I won't see my order status at all until it's pressed and handed off the CGC?
  19. Understood, I know some other sites that were backed up due to corona shortages and the Suez Canal incident has a banner on their homepage like "Yes, we're working on it, current expectation is BLAH BLAH BLAH..." If cgc updated the main page with a banner that said "Current turn around times: XX Months. Currently sorting shipments which arrived on: XX/XX/XX." and kept that banner up to each each morning or afternoon, It could go a long way. Just wishful thinking though. I'll keep logging back in and checking to see if it's been received instead...
  20. My books were picked up from the PO Box on 3/23/21. I know you mentioned you were working on shipments received on 3/15 back on 4/6.. Any updates? No hurry, just anxious to find out if my books arrived okay.. Just a suggestion, but given the overwhelming backlog at the moment you may want to put the info regarding your progress in processing shipments somewhere on the main site. That might help cut down on inquires.
