  1. I was at a comic shop the other day for a signing and wanted to get my books CGC'd. The shop use to send in books to CGC under their account but now they use another business to come in to submit for them. I was told (from an employee) that the store owe'd CGC alot of money from older grading, so CGC froze their account. While at the event, I was talking to other customers who have books sitting at CGC under the stores account and when they call CGC, they are told that the books are graded and "sitting in a vault" but they cant tell them anything else due to it being under the stores account. Whats the validity of this? Is this how CGC holds customers books until the account holder pays? What about the store still getting away with having books graded through a third party vendor? If this is true, this is messed up.
  2. Is there anyway to research the CGC Census for specific signatures for a person? If not, this would be a very useful feature to offer. For example, I would like to know every CGC Yellow label book signed by Frank Frazetta. Sure I can look up Famous Funnies #209 and see that there are 4 "Signature Series" books on the census. But, how do I know that someone didnt get one signed by Gil Gerard?? How many yellow label books are out there with Stan Lee? Steve Ditko? Since these names are attached to the label, it would be interesting to see if CGC could provide a list of what books were signed by whom.

  6. Wanted to do some research into what artist the Millennial generation are following or a list of Millennial artist that are popular. I don't read any modern books other than Donny Cates Thor series, and the last book I read before that was Jim Lee's Hush series.
  7. If there’s any artist that are looking to do commissions or sell some of their published pages or something, please post here. I for one am willing to help out an artist by getting a commission or purchasing a piece if they have something I really like. I’m sure there are others here that are also willing to make some purchases. or if you know an artist that’s not on this site, please post their name and how to contact them, maybe show a sample of their work. Let see if we can help each other in this crisis.

  12. Would like some feedback on purchasing some good reference books on Frazetta and Wrightson. I've looked at Amazon and I see alot of conflicting comments about some of the books, so I figured I would ask for advice here, from some professional OA collectors. Anyway, please let me know what you are using, if your using.

  18. Is there any artist today that mimic the style or tightness of Wrightson or Frazetta style? Is there any other artist you can think of that has similar style? Looking for both todays artist and older artist.
  19. Yes I have decided to let this piece go, something else has came up that I would like to concentrate on getting.
  20. Hey Scott, Again, thanks for all the assistance with acquiring this piece and researching the difference between this piece and the piece Richard did. Definitely there can be confusion out there, especially with Jims work being copied so much and two such similar pieces floating around out there. People new to collecting this field can be taken advantage of, and I've only been collecting OA for a year now. As you said, there is nothing wrong with blueline, I think sometimes it's actually nice to have the original pencils and the inked version so you can get both artist representation of a piece. Thanks for sharing your concerns and helping clear up peoples questions about Lee/Williams art. Ray
