  1. I think Stan did a great job illustrating the issue in the tribulations of Ben Grimm. And Peter Parker, to a different extent. IMO The X-Men were a different dynamic. I think the world objected them for the same reasons they were objecting nuclear power. There is great ability in them but there is also the chance of complete meltdown. I think that is more legitimate concern, than baseless prejudice.
  2. I thought the Cold War was the inspiration for the book. Magneto's origin, 'hom superior' etc
  3. Conflating fear and animosity towards mutants that possess immense power and world ending capability, with social nuances. That's a bit of a stretch.
  4. Picked up these two. I think theyre a cool product. The back cover of the endless winter is different as is the 608 blue cover . You can get all the page punchers straight from Mcfarlane toy store
  5. mcs still has copies of albatross #1 signed/remarked. good deal imo
  6. I ordered a copy. Price isnt cheap but it is a 96 pager and it seems to be quality stock. Liked the art, has a GTA style about it.. Let's see how the story goes
  7. There was a guy on the bay who was pumping out painted blank covers. The style was mostly blotting from what I remember but overall the pieces were pretty appealing. For my nieces birthday I got her one of those kiddy projector things for drawing. Software can outline any photo and project it onto a piece of paper. My niece took some paint and started dabbing and blotting and was pumping out some decent pieces. Makes you wonder.
