  1. I grew up watching the series and I recently picked up the DBZ manga. I don't know why I didn't read this earlier, it's a great story.
  2. Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball manga author, dies at 68 https://www.npr.org/2024/03/08/1237072321/akira-toriyama-dragon-ball-creator-dies-manga-anime
  3. https://planetcomicon.com/ March 8 - 10, 2024 Kansas City Convention Center, Kansas City, MO Fri: 1PM - 8PM, Sat: 10AM - 7PM, Sun: 10AM - 5PM
  4. New issue being released this week! Batman vol. 3 #145 Description: A THRILLING NEW ARC IS HERE... "DARK PRISONS" BEGINS! Following The Joker: Year One’s stunning reveals, Batman must engineer an escape from Zur’s prison...but what dark secret does Zur now hold that's a game changer for the Dark Knight and the entire DC Universe?!
  5. That is reassuring! Thanks for sharing!
  6. What a great looking book! I love EC's science-fiction.
  7. Of the E.C. books in my collection, I almost exclusively collect Weird Fantasy. They're excellent books. I'm really looking forward to the Cruel Universe title that will be released later this year.
  8. I know E.C. published a lot of horror. Which of those are considered the three titles in the "big six"?
  9. The story also didn't explain the Joker's connection with Zur-En-Arrh. The end of Batman 141 made it sound like the Joker's origin story would revolve around that.
  10. I came to the same conclusion. The infections were happening in the future, the joker was dead, and was haunting Batman as he went through Gotham.
  11. Anyone reading Joker Year 1? Personally, I think the story is just okay. And is the side story where people are becoming infected in Gotham City happening in the future? I was a little lost on that.
  12. I edited my previous post as I thought more about the question.
  13. These are the important questions that burden society. I'd say when talking to him, it's "Batman". When talking about him, it's "The Batman" i.e. "Thank you Batman" or "I got beat up by The Batman".
  14. When I first got into collecting years ago and didn't really understand the market, I saw a high grade Detective Comics at a convention (I dont remember the issue, but I know it was below #50). I asked the price and was told "80". I only had $100 with me and didn't want to spend $80 on one book... No no, he meant $80,000. Not my brightest moment.
  15. Personally, I'm excited for this news. It'll be interesting to see what the stories and art are like.
  16. Excellent idea for a thread. Casablanca is my favorite film. Something that I watch a few times a year.
