  1. OK, people need to stop looking for SSWS Marie books. I have 3 more to go, so I don't need the competition. Lord knows they are hard enough to find.
  2. So, there should not be an apostrophe, right? Not that it matters, I guess, but someone felt the need to change it for some reason.
  3. How is Copper's correct and Coppers not? Is the title supposed to be that "Copper is heating/selling well on Ebay" or that "Coppers (copper comics) "that are" heating/selling on Ebay? If it's the first, then I understand, but I always assumed it was the latter.
  4. Add my name to adding Ajaxfarrell. Over 6 weeks, no clock and he has stopped responding to pm.
  5. I too am waiting (40 or so days) for a clock. He told me he was having personal issues with a friend and does check in from time to time. The long stretches of no communication is the worse part of dealings with him. My clock is a custom job so I can wait a little longer. I just wish he wouldn't disappear for days at a time with no response.
  6. Sorry, I am not gonna read 77 pages, but is the serial number on the re-sub universal book not too low for a recent grading? I thought the numbers were sequential.
  7. Just acquired...Spent a little more than I wanted...but I always loved this Kubert Batman cover, esp. with the white W in the corner.
  8. Was always a Miracleman fan (as well as Moore fan) but thanks to this thread, I went back and looked at my # 1s and found I had one of the yellow back cover UK books. Great to discover things like long after the fact.
  9. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/03/10/bryan-singer-x-men-days-of-future-past-apocalypse/ The reason why, I would assume. This book has more road room ahead of it. Watch and see! +1 Apocalypse is awesome.
  10. This is my copy. I haven't sent a book to be graded since 2003, but I believe this one may be worth doing. The scan does this book no good as the colors on it are outstanding.
  11. I have come across a few sites that state that Morrison's story was not in this book, one of which is quoted below: "Though Morrison's Kid Marvelman -script was long rumoured to have seen publication in issue #4 of Hugh Campbell's Fusion fanzine, It turns out that 'The Devil and Johnny Bates' from that issue was actually an in-depth character study of Kid Marvelman by one Jim Clements. Clements, a legendary figure whose published output amounts to one 6-page Future Shock in 2000 A.D. Prog 713, was cited by Morrison in the 15th Anniversary Arkham Asylum introduction as a big influence in his formative years. Morrison goes on to say that essentially he wrote the book entirely to impress him." https://sites.google.com/site/deepspacetransmissions/universe-b/uk However, since I don't have this book, I can not state for sure that this is actually so. 12. Does the results of this auction on Comiclink surprise anyone? Especially considering the subscription crease? And did anyone here win this? 13. I appreciate the man's talent but I never was a Jim Aparo fan. Even back in the 70s/80s. Funnily enough, I recently acquired a copy of B&B # 102. About halfway through the first story (Teen Titans), I said to myself "Aparo's art has gotten much better. Not nearly as "stiff" as his art usually seems. Must be a different inker. It almost looks Adamsesque". Then I got to the letter's page.
  14. His head isn't detached. Did someone say it is? The actual listing we are referring to says "detached head" and I have seen it a few other times labeled that way.
  15. I never thought MM's head was detached. Isn't that his body to the left of his head as if he is at an angle? I know his head never becomes detached in the story. Has this always been referred to a a detached head cover?
  16. I once heard a subscription crease brings a book automatically down to a VG. Is this necessarily the case? If so, on CGC's scale would it achieve a 5.0 or not? Thanks.
  17. Comic Base tells me I have 20,767. Waaayyy too many.
  18. New acquisitions.... I love the white Whitman logos the best.
  19. Is this the one with MM, KM, and YM flying above a satellite on the cover? 70p/$2.00? Mine is about a VF- but it is a good "side-step" of the MM run and I like how it attempted to make all past MM stories relevant. (Think Swamp Thing # 33). And the Ben Big story may have been new too along with the framing sequence. Not sure though.
  20. The Warrior is not really that tough to find in my experience. I have 2 myself. The Daredevils books (with Marvelman's "death") seem to be harder to come.
  21. I will definitely enjoy my 8.5 thank you. Seeing what the 9.0 finished at (and we are still a few months from the movie), I am very happy with what I paid for the 8.5 (not that it is my intent to sell as I am a Batman collector). Eddie
  22. I was watching the 9.0 411 out of interest as I had just purchased an 8.5 from kimik (Ryan, correct?). I should have offered him a price on the Batman 245 when he listed them in the for sale section, but chickened out. Eddie
