  3. I bought this cover back in 1977 at the San Diego Con.
  4. I’m insured through CI on a dealer policy. Several years ago, my daughter’s dog was staying with us. I had propped a Robert McGinnis painting against a cabinet. The next day, the painting was gone, as in cleaned off the board. Turns out McGinnis used egg tempera in the paint, the dog smelled this, and licked the paint off down to the pencil underdrawing. I called CI and told them. It took a couple minutes for them to grasp what happened. They believed me as the story was so crazy, you couldn’t make that up. They did give me full value for the painting. I sent the painting to CI. McGinnis was amused.
  5. My personal opinion is that those Marvel posters were drawn by Everett. Look at the line work on those figures. Look at Hulk’s face. I’m sure Marvel told Everett to tone down his style and make it more generic looking, while copying the figures from particular books/issues.
  6. Since I collect vintage children’s book art and art from vintage illustrated books, I have purchased the books in which the illustrations were printed. All of the books are from the early years of the 20th Century, and most are published in the UK. A lot of he books weren’t cheap, but felt it important to have a copy.
  7. This is the final price reduction on the following Golden Age Art! Jerry Robinson - Detective Comics #76 pg.4 - 1943 This is a rare page featuring Batman and Robin fighting the Joker. What makes this rare? It's the first Joker story Jerry Robinson pencilled and inked that featured the Joker! You almost never see Golden Age pages with Batman fighting the Joker. Jerry went on to pencil and ink 2 other Batman/Joker stories in Batman #28 & 37, but highly doubtful you'll ever find any pages. You have it all here! Batman and Robin fighting the Joker. Art is in very good condition, with small amounts of white-out on the art. $36,000 From the Robinson Collection. Any questions? Please email me at mitkowitz@hvc.rr.com or call at 845-399-7312 Thanks for looking. Best, Mitch Itkowitz Graphic Collectibles

  10. Granted, the price was a bit unexpected, but this is a cover for a Peter Rabbit comic from 1946, by Harrison Cady. You might be cable to get Cady originals for less, but anything with Peter Rabbit brings a premium price.
  11. It would seem so, though I have no recollection of ever selling it..
  12. “Wide-ringing knowledge of a dealer”….. Isn’t that an oxymoron? It doesn’t take much knowledge to be a dealer. No dealer can tell what’s going to sell in the future, or even in the present. They think they can, but really all they are doing is pricing the art, throwing it against the wall to see if it sticks. Too many times, dealers thought they were the smartest person in the room, only to see either few sales, or sales disappear. Best example? Any Marvel TV show. Dealers charge exorbitant prices when a new show or movie is announced, only to see prices/sales fall when either said show or movie is cancelled, or prices too high. Not knowledge. Greed/taking advantage.
  13. Actually, no. Frank is almost 67. Is it really necessary to make snide comments? What purpose does it serve? You don’t like his work, fine. But to make snarky comments about how he looks is unnecessary.
  14. I've just added new Frank Miller and Lynn Varley originals to my website! These originals have NEVER been offered in the past! They are fresh-to-market! 18. Marvel only had Everett art from the 60s and 70s.
  19. Most was discarded. The family has no Golden Age art. I think there might be a cover from the 50s along with several Sub-Mariner pages from the 1950s.
  20. New art added to the site includes.... Jerry Robinson - Detective Comics #79 pg.12 A very nice page featuring Bruce Wayne and MR. Grayson. Also, this is the first appearance of Judy O'Casson, Claude Renner and Madame Calagra! Robinson pencilled and inked originals don't come to market often. This is a great example that doesn't feature Batman and Robin but rather their alter-egos. Only 2 pages exist from the story. This is the only page that will be for sale. Art is in very good condition, with minimal amounts of white-out on the art. No stats, creases or bends. Signed by Robinson in pencil in the border. From the Robinson Collection.
