  1. I have off and on sent in books to get graded. In the past I would have to write that I want items sent in with the books back. Like if say the books had a sealed Dynamic Forces certificate with them, I would write i want those back after the grading. I was thinking of sending in some books (bagged and boarded) in plastic comic top loaders. If I do that would the top loaders be sent back to me with the graded books or not? Not life or death if I get them back, I just thought it would help keeping the books safe while in transit.
  2. Ok so a few have been graded, but can it fit a modern case?
  3. Hey trying to figure out. I have a 'Red Sonja #1973' from dynamite. Is it sized right for a modern slab? I tried looking in the census to see if any others had been graded, but cant seem to phrase it right to see if one has. https://www.dynamite.com/htmlfiles/viewProduct.html?PRO=C1606907352
  4. I am thinking of CGCing a copy of the spoiler cover for Amazing Spider-man 26 that comes out next week. It seems that the black cover with red SPOILER on it is on top of the real spoiler image cover. How does CGC deal with these? If I CGC it would it only show the black cover in the case? Seems like a waste to have the art on the 'second' cover under the black one. Isn't that what black mylar bags were for?
  5. I tried via email, but CGC email system rejected it. So I will try here. I want to see the graders notes to one of my books. It just got graded on the 20th of February. It is a foil Warren Louw Power Girl cover for action comics 1051. I just want to know how a book I got from the artist webstore brand new got a 9.0? I just put in the mail for cgc a day after I got it. Unless it got damaged somehow on the way to cgc? I heard CGC was harsh on foil covers, but it seems over kill. I am a member and entered the cert number in the web lookup and nothing shows up.
  6. I have not sent books in since covid. I have two questions. What is the current return shipping costs back for CGCd books? I think it was like 30 for 5 CGCd books last time I sent in books but not sure. Also I have two recent books from comic cons from live Whatnots signed by the same artist.(Mark Brooks) I think they get a blue label with a "name written in marker on cover" tag. But since they were not witnessed by a CGC person would that lower the grade? Just wondering if I should send them in since it was not witnessed by CGC?
  7. I have a few pages from the Sara P era of Witchblade from Image/Top Cow. Around the late #160s from 2013. I was looking at frames and want to get he sizes right. Does 17.05 inches in height and 12 inches wide seem right for the entire page? Not just the art area, the boarders as well. Also is there good places to get frames for these? Thanks
  8. Hi CGC, first I want to say I know you guys are backed up and busy working to get all orders caught up. I'm fine with that. I know since there is no live conventions these days that all the books that would have been graded there are being sent in instead. What I am wondering is two things. 1.Is there a webpage that shows the date of submissions you guys are up to? I have seen the page where it says how long the turn around time is for full grading but I am wondering on where you are on opening and logging comics from the mail.(another thread showed what submissions you guys are up to on cards) 2. When I did my online form and sent in my books it said no payment will be processed till the books are opened and logged in. Is that in pending on a bank or something? I just have $216 waiting to be taken out and wondering if that could be taken out and just held and refund any later if say you cant do a book for some reason?
  9. Ok thank you. I have no idea why JCC made the books with a tiny over hang in the first place.
  10. I have a question on grading comics from Jay Company Comics. I know years ago when the company was still in business that CGC said it could not grade those books because of cover over hang. The covers were just a tish over the length of the back of the books. The fear was the front might compress during the book sealing in the CGC capsule. Now years later I know that CGC has changed the capsule or plastic holder a time or two. Can Jay Company Comics books now be graded? Or would it have to be sealed in a different size holder? I have the Jay Company Comics book "Witchblade 55" 'I love comics' variant cover. I think it was made in 05/2002.
  11. Ok its been awhile since I submitted cgc comics. I have the small cgc submission kit. CGC said I still had to do the form online. Before when I sent books in there were comic online stores that would allow you to go through their forms. You would get a 10% discount. Then mail to cgc office in Florida. Now I can not find or recall what online stores has this option. At the moment I saw the free cgc membership option on cgc.com. I followed the directions to select free member promo under the "drop off comics at convention" since the mail to cgc was not able to be used. Then selected grading. I have filled in 4 modern comics for grading. Two are the correct price at 20 per book. The other two for some reason say its 85.00 per book. So instead of 80 it says 170.00. I have selected modern in all of them so it should be 20 each. Why is the form saying they are 85.00 when they from the last two years?
  12. Last time I sent books to cgc was a few years ago. I recall I typed the book name and number, date and any variant of it into a forum. I entered my credit card number in the payment area and printed out 3 copies. One each for me, grading, and shipping departments. I also had to write that I gave permission to take out any sealed books out to be graded. Now I got a cgc graded shipping kit. I think it has a paper you write in the comics you are sending. Do you add payment onto that and is that the only page you send or do you copy it for your records as well?
