  1. Hi all, looking for input here. I think the book is in the VG/FN range, but it has a coupon clipped. That coupon affects the pin-up. As is, the book is tight and intact, but for the clipping. My question is, with this being a mid-grade book, would we be looking at a mid grade (qualified), a lower grade, a mid grade simply with a notation. So, please help me grade my ASM 3. Thanks! - Trent
  2. Hi thanks for answering, but that wasn't exactly the question asked. The comic is from a recognized pedigree (Curator), but it is in a blue universal label without label notation. If I submit it for a re-holder, will it be in a gold pedigree label?
  3. Hi all - I know that previously (prior to the special pedigree label color) CGC would not put a pedigree notation on a modern comic even if the comic is from a recognized pedigree. Has that changed in light of the new label? I have the Curator New Mutants 98. It's currently in a CGC 9.8 slab and I have the certificate identifying it as the curator copy. I would like to have it in the Pedigree Gold Label, if possible. Please let me know whether or not this can be accomplished. Thank you for your help - Trent
  4. It looks like almost all of the spine stress should be able to press out. I don't think the top edges will structurally benefit from a press, but they'd certainly present nicer. It's hard to tell what's dust shadowing v staining so I don't suspect that much can be told about cleaning until it's actually in hand. I think it can absolutely press into the VG/FN range and can maybe be cleaned into the VG/FN/FN- range. I would think a great result has you around 5.5, and more likely 4.5/5.0. I think the top edges have too much tearing to get into the FN range, and I think if it is a dust shadow (which seems most likely) you're looking at a 5.0 ceiling more or less.
  5. Looks like it would benefit from a press. That upper corner of the spine would probably improve considerably. I see 6 spine ticks and stress at both staples. As is I think it’s F+ / F/VF. I think it could improve to VF-
  6. Looks like it would benefit from a press. VG+.
  7. I count 6 spine ticks between front and back cover. At least 1 maybe 2 don’t break color, so pressing may be beneficial. The rubbing / scuffing is what is going to hold this down. I don’t think you can be in the 9.0 range or higher with that defect. I think as is it is VF range (7.5/8.0) and could improve to VF+ range (8.5). If it’s just for your collection, it presents very well and would look great in a Mylar
  8. Anecdotally, I have never seen any CGC book with water damage / staining higher than 3.0 from CGC. Moderns are tough to grade when it’s not high grade and you’re counting spine ticks . Technically, this is VG range. Maybe higher. But given that it’s a modern with a pronounced defect, it’s probably going to grade lower than that. If there’s no rust / staining…a press would benefit it. I think you’d get into the VF range with a press.
  9. Hey everyone. So I’m building out a new entertainment room and was thinking of incorporating the collection to the entertainment room. I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar (and used something other than the long-boxes). I guess I’m really asking for some inspiration. I’ve been storing with long boxes for nearly 30 years so I cannot really picture anything else. Any suggestions (and photos!) would be very appreciated. Thanks!
  10. Really hard to tell with photos. Light can play tricks on you, which is why a scan is always better. Looks to me to be in VF range. You have some spine ticks (some which look like they'll press out), some edge/corner wear and what appears to be some light soiling on the back cover near the spine. Pretty copy, impossible to grade accurately from the photos.
  11. Membership will absolutely be a 2021 goal for me
  12. I'm a "completionist" collector so I think OSPG is a great resource for the "gap" non-key issues in a run on well settled titles (like FF, Avengers, etc) but for hot books/keys "multiples of guide" has been a thing for at least 15 years now. It is amazing to see how much it's changed.
