  1. +1 for support of this thread. Respectful and insightful. Thank you.
  2. Ugh. I feel like I need to sell all my low grade books for one just so I can play in this game. Great books everyone.
  3. The market is still hot. Leave it as is, post it on Ebay with a 6.0 price.
  4. How is this still here? Is everyone else eyeing a big grail in an upcoming auction?
  5. Thank you. So, yes, it could be mold, it's just that the grader wasn't able to ascertain explicitly.
  6. That was meant to be sarcastic. Glad someone caught it. Sometimes I wonder why I even pay for the notes. In the past few years I may have spent $100 for notes to not find much usefulness Thanks all
  7. I didn't realize that. When I tried to interpret the graders notes vs the cover text, the grader notes give me a glimmer of hope that maybe the cover is attached in a few spots with this: "heavy spine splits to cover" but that where it is detached, there may be chunks out. But, the label text says no chance at all. Then, with "heavy spine stress lines to cover" it's unclear because how can there be spine stress if there is no spine?
  8. CGC label says: Spine of cover & 1st wrap completely split & detached And, grader notes say: heavy spine splits to cover heavy spine stress lines to cover Sounds like malice from the grader in the notes. Any thoughts on the distinction between the notes and the label?
  9. I have graders notes on a comic I'm considering. The notes indicate "moderate straining to cover" In the picture, the stains look like mold. Would grader's notes explicitly state "mold" or could "stains" also be considered mold?
  10. There have been threads about this in the past. I really like the idea, but I still haven't found a definitive answer if this is safe for my comics. A full-back will absorb off gassing. So, if just put micro chamber paper in my comic, will I have the same protection without the Full Back? Science person, help!
  11. Not sure what motivated you to start this thread, but yesterday or 2 days ago when Greg Reece posted the Archie 1 with brittle pages, I was VERY tempted. I decided no and got a stomach ache.
  12. I took my first look at the offering this time around. I really hope the Promise is enough of a distraction from the OA.
  13. This next HA auction is going to break me. Or, at least break my rules for spending.
  14. Just be prepared for all the CGC 9.8s that are being hawked for $500+
  15. In the long run, the new "Eras" filter will do what you are familiar and comfortable doing. The mistake ebay made is they deleted the Golden Age category from thousands of listings. They could have easily just assigned those same listings to the Golden Age Era. But, instead they left Era blank. As a result, thousands of GA comics are now part of the drek. To fix it, sellers will need to update all their listings to include Golden Age, or Silver Age or whatever with the correct Era. If you have hundreds, or thousands of items listed, have fun with that. And, until all those thousands of listings are updated with the Era, they will be continue to be lumped in with the drek.
  16. Following categories are being retired (warning: long scroll) And, the following are brand new categories. Oh yippee
  17. It's a mess. Discussion in Comics General...
  18. You can always make your own. Here's what I did for The Flash.
  19. This eliminates a lot of "collectors" on this board. Not just from other ages, but also with other motivations, such as collecting based on historical or cultural significance.
  20. I thought of this once, but the cost is not inconsequential. Especially bandwidth consumed by images. A nice way to do it would be to post listings on your site. Then, connect and auto-post the comic to your FB and Instagram feed. You can even auto-post it to Etsy, ebay, shortboxed, etc. Then, manage them all from a console. The tools are there to get this set-up. Buyers then have a choice where they want to shop. Good luck.
