Joe! From CFP! So far I have only used you for pressing. All of you pressers seem so slammed! It's really a skill I wish I had.

Good point - I have been in the game for a bit and tend to undergrade.. I just thought of another thing that leans me towards pressing....what if the press bumps it up to a 9.9 (totally subjective and extremely rare, I know. Like winning the lottery), that would make it worth it! I guess I had to talk myself into it. Now to find a presser that isn't 6 months out!

Hello, Specifically thinking about doing a pre-screen for 25 books that I think are 9.8's. Just a hope, of course. My question....with pressing times no matter who you use, and more importantly possibly damaging the book....would you get them pressed? Some of them are on the 9.6/9.8 border. I normally get all of my books pressed I want to encapsulate, but wasn't sure about the consensus on books that were already near perfect/ mint. Thanks for you feedback!

I get that CGC won't authenticate books that they have not personally witnessed, but my questions is this: I have a Sub-mariner #1 that is CBCS verified graded with a signature from the inker on the first page - would that come back as a blue label? I don't care if they don't authenticate it as a Signature book - just don't want them to note on the slab something like :"Frank Giacoia written on first page" on the label. How do you think they would handle this? Thanks

Thank you! My eyes are not as strong as they used to be and I need glasses (I am almost to the point of acknowledging that) But I think it says it has restoration, yes? I think that's what I'm reading. I could be completely off base, but shouldn't this get a purple restored label?

So what do you think....CGC mistake or am I missing something? What would you grade the grading? This seller received a Universal Grade on a label that is clearly stating all kinds of restoration. Good for him/ her. King of obnoxious that they had the gall to state "Universal Grade" in the listing when they dodged a bullet and got a Universal label. And also, photos posted are lo-res. OK enough but they won't enlarge. Nice one on the eBay seller...I hope the buyer returns it. How does this happen? A HUGE KEY like this getting thru Quality Control. Or am I mistaken? I hope I don't have just a passing knowledge in comics and rely solely on CGC and eBay, but I am no means an expert. OK, now that we have the obligatory condescending post out of the way - no, they are the same book. I guarantee that. I took a photo of it facing straight forward and none of the defects are visible. They both have the same wrap and cut. You can see the small tear in the original listing if you look closely.

I bought this off eBay thinking it was around a 7-8 The first two pictures are the listing and the next 4 are "upon further inspection". The last photo has me most concerned (small tear) Please let me know what you think. Still a 7.0? Thanks!
