    Back in the saddle again!

This whole summer was pretty much a bust for me because I was in flux, I had to put my comic collection in storage and really had no fixed address so I couldn't send of my comics to get graded, But now I do have fixed address and I now have easy access to my comic collection so I can pick were I left off from the end of last year. Seeing all the variety of writers and artists do some signings at CGC was driving me nuts cause my hands were tied to get some of my comics signed but now it's time to go! Last time Mr. Geoff Johns had come around I had already committed to getting books signed by Mr. Dan Jurgens so it was a no go for getting Mr. Johns signature. But this time around, my budget has room for his signature. I try to stick to the older books first. Such as the following. Although I see no spine ticks....I'm hoping for at least 9.4 across the board afterall all of them are over 15 years old.....
  5. I really didn't think I would have got these 4 books signed because of the shipment problem on my end but it worked out. ;)
  6. Mr. Ron Marz used Green Marker on my 4 Green Lantern books.
  7. Nice purple signature for somewhat similar cover.
  8. Eventually I would have gotten around to sending some of my Green Lantern books down to be slabbed but then writer Ron Marz did an signature signing sooooooo.
  9. This is second time that I got some books signed by artist Amanda Conner. Books are from the Powergirl series that started in 2009 and lasted 27 issues.
  10. Nice book along with your chosen heading too. I got some books of her signed as well from the Powergirl title, it's odd though cause they were signed on the same day but her signature is somewhat different than yours cause they had labeled it as signing & sketches...

    Can you spot the difference?

Family members have mentioned I should try to get a credit refund, if I didn't have enough going in my life right now, I would play the email tag game with CGC.

I think it's the way I took the picture that gives you that impression, there was no grader notes on either.

Yep.... It goes back into my collection, a story to be told that it was a beautiful 9.6 with a beautiful signature until the graded book was put into a slab......while they were putting the comic between the two plastic slabs there was some kind rub that caused the paper scratch... At first i thought it was tape or something on the outside of the slab but nope...it's on the inside.

First time this has occurred to me...it's always that risk of it happening, it had to have occurred after grading cause they sure would not grade it that high if it occurred before the grade process. Oh well it is what it is. Also that is why you always scan your covers before sending them out to any grading company.... Nice signature matches the color layout of the cover....
  15. well it looks like the package arrived down 5 days prior to deadline, although the package was marked MW on the outside it looks like it never got around to being opened sooooo now waiting for the dreaded email stating that the books missed the deadline.... oh well I blame the US postal service on this one......just wish I knew why that particular package was held on the US side for 20 days before being delivered to Florida.
  16. Thanks for the reply. This is actually the very first time that any of my boxes were held up at the Canada/US mail system. When Canada Post tells me it will take 10 business days to get CGC, it's pretty accurate. I'm crossing fingers but no further updates on the box tonight.
  17. I had mailed 2 different boxes on the same day, one for Ron Marz signing and the other signing for Mark Waid on the Oct 8 of this year. As per mailing schedule, the Ron Marz box got to you guys and was put it in the system already for the Nov. 11 signing Woot! Sadly for whatever mailing reason the second box finally was processed at the L.A terminal early this morning October 31st sooooo I don't know what will happen next. If the box does appear at your doorstep after the date of the signing, then I would still prefer to get them pressed and graded....I would just hate for them to be sent back to me just as raw books. At least I know at the moment that they were in LA. for the last 10 days I was wondering what happened to them cause the only info I got was the box was delivered to the foreign country which doesn't tell me exactly where they are in the foreign country
  18. a HA! I was wondering why I was seeing some old submission records up front. ;)
  19. I might be making a double post cause I don't see the post I made so I will make this a shorter response. As a kid walking through comic shop, I would just bee-line to the superman boxes, I did not even look at Green Lantern comic.
  20. I don't recall of seeing alot of complete cover wraps on the comics that I have, in fact how I came across this one was trying to find the comics that have the least amount of spine ticks and etc to send down to get Mark Waid to sign on Nov. 11. I know he had a long run on the Flash but the only time I read the Flash was when he was in the JLA series/Titans/ or crossover with Green Arrow/Green Lantern. As for other issues, I enjoyed the JLA mini-series that lead to the Grant Morrison run. I read that mini-series too much I guess, too many spine ticks but the covers were awesome. I enjoyed Kingdom Come as well as it's sequel. Now I could have sent some of his current work aka Batman/Superman but I want to do the old stuff so I went with JLA Year One as well as The Brave and the Bold. First Issue of JLA: Year One is the wrap around cover and possible Platinum edition? I put that down in the info.... if I am wrong about that oh well they can fix it right?
  21. I enjoyed those Morrison seasons. wonder what it will be like after Dark Crisis, I'm not getting any vibe that there would be a Green Lantern Series, I have no interest in reading that one-shot that John Stewart will be in.
  22. laughed in your face! Funny thing is, back in the late eighties I had no interest in Green Lantern whatsoever because there was a whole corp out there in space that had the same power as this guy named Hal on earth, it wasn't till after the rebirth of Superman/destruction of Coast City as well as the destruction of the Green Lanterns that got me into reading Green Lantern aka the one and only Kyle Rayner!!!!! I enjoyed reading his adventures and the process of how the other Lanterns came back but somewhere along the line DC messed up. Here we are near the end of 2022 and there is not a regular running series of Green Lantern which is freakin nuts! So when I saw that Ron Marz was gonna do a signature signing in November, I thought well what better way to start slabbing my large collection of Green Lantern by starting where I jumped in head first. Will any of the 4 be a 9.8???? All four of them are getting old sooo who knows maybe 9.4 Back in those days, I was lucky enough I guess to pick up 2 them as newstands yay me.
  23. The news is kinda of cool, sent these 2 comics down for a signature signing of Mr. Dan Jurgens sooooo I should see more info on the yellow label....
  24. what was your final grade anyhoo ? I made a video of the signature slabs I got back.... fingerprints on one of slabs which I believe is related to how many times that book was handled. Perhaps I should stick to making my own signature window bags.
  25. It was nice to get these ones back, with some signature signings coming up in November, it will be likely in the New Year that I will be sending some old comics for blue labels.
