  1. Thanks! I was wrong when I said I first started collecting Turtle books 8+ years ago. I remember collecting and trading them around 1987ish. I remember seeing the following book on the stands and buying it way "after" the Turtle hype seemed over. This book gave me nightmares, it was pretty graphic in nature, but so were many independent books at the time. Of course as a kid, I thought a "#1" on the comic meant it would automatically be worth hundreds, if not thousands, one day. Worth a nice read at the very least!
  2. WOW! Pretty cool to see such early art, with Fugitoid and everything!
  3. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Big, huge, thanks once again, to PeasOfCrap. I've been collecting turtles books for over 8 years now, but due to hardships (which keep coming still, full force) I had to part with almost every book that I cared about. Here are a few mostly that I've had for years, that I finally got signed. You've seen this already, second print 9.8 that I paid an arm and a pelvis for years ago, which came back 9.8: I just really love this book, not matter what printing, I can stare at it all day. Third print: I sent this in to PeasOfCrap, another cracked 9.8, which came back the same, really proud to have a signed first print #2: Not 9.8, but might want to "upgrade" this first print #3 one day: NYCC variant, I am seeing a 9.8 SS on the census, but this 9.6 still makes me horny: Couple of double covers: Now... this is my holy grail, I've waited over 6 years for one. At one time I might have killed (a bug or something) for it. I've tried SOOOOOOOOOOO hard to get this book.... that it made me not ever want to collect books any more. I am sorry to all the people on this forum I begged to help me get this book. I offered over a thousand dollars for it, and probably would have went higher. Don't ask me why I wanted it so bad, because I don't really know, other than it's been impossible for me get. So I bought a bunch that looked "iffy" to me. Some of those "iffy" ones came back and now I am content with not just one, but three Counterfeit #2's: And you've all seen this sucker before, nothing special, but I hope you know how to tell one by sight. My dummass bought raw turtles FULL PRICE and ended up with a fake. Counterfeit #1's: Some of you have said you don't like the sigs, but for me I just think the yellow label looks "juicy" and makes my mouth water. And @oroku saki, if you are reading this, please excuse any bright yellow nightmares you may have tonight...
  4. It's a HP Scanjet G311. With these large books, I had to scan them in twice (top and bottom). Then use some Photoshop skillz to make all it one book (not for the faint of heart). I couldn't imagine buying a $500 scanner that was large enough to do it in one pass, and then end up with a huge battleship in my house, that all it could do is scan stuff.
  5. I am going to post a few more books, but here's a sneak peek. This second print was already graded 9.8. Thanks to PeasOfCrap, it came back the same. Single highest signed, for now?
  6. I saw that yesterday! FIrst thing I noticed was the case. The new PGX? Can't believe how they straight up stole the CGC look....or am I missing something here?
  7. Sigh... This might as well have been about the Turtles being aliens. If you want to watch the Turtle story (and origin) get butchered, please watch this movie. One thing that irked me is Shredder moves like a Rock'em-sock'em robot. But, the Turtle animation, and moves were great. I enjoyed it in it's cowabungabootylicious awkwardedness. In parts 2 and 3, I am hoping this movie was a vision Splinter had*, and part one never happened. Hey, it happens in movies? *Where Megan Fox was just a vision he had on an overdose of disposed Tuna from Sam's Club, and the turtles didn't know all this happened in Splinter's brain, and we can all kind of reboot the series. **There are kids, and I've seen them, waiting for the movie theatres that can replicate the Turtles moves...These children will learn the ninja moves from movies, and from ninjitsu books
  8. These books are awesome. It makes me feel proud when I see other turtles share the same passion. DISCLAIMER: have a bunch of books to post from PeasOfTotallyAwesomessDude coming up, I "just" have to scan them in, but they will totally wet your shells, so get the ginger and wasabi ready.
  9. In the music video the guy starts talking about how his watch keeps time great, among other things... However, I can easily say that I enjoyed the *NEW* music video more than the trailers so far, it shows a lot more of the movie - and some great action sequences. I saw the latest Transformers and thought it was bad as spoon, and now I'm sure this move will be awesome to see, for me at least.
  10. Failing to see the connection between the guys Rolex and Ninja Turtles.... Or am I getting too old?
  11. I knew about the one-color blue, but never noticed the black was screwy like that. I learn something new every day!
  12. This thread is a bit long, but very detailed: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7479092&fpart=1 Called Ninja Turtles - Differences Between Printings
  13. EDIT: Holding my ground, looks like this movie will be cowabungalicious.
