  1. Got these the tail end of ‘20, but they arrived last week. My favorite Ant-Man cover, 1st time Kirby drew any resemblance of “a” Cap in the silver age, and 1st Cerebro and last app of the “snowman” Iceman
  2. Also found in Batman 121, Lois Lane 7, and a host of other DCs out in December, 1958
  3. Either the splash was swiped to dupe the cover or vise versa. That monster is from the 6th dimension so they have gravitational powers
  4. Agreed on the A8, and SF 13 is Stone inking just on the cover.
  5. Correct on the TOS issues. Thanks. However, Avengers 5 is a Paul Reinmann ink job and Sgt Fury 13 is Chic Stone.
  6. Seems like Schomburg was experimenting with the large figures. All Winners 7 shows medium sized heroes (no sidekicks). Then the 8 is slightly larger with sidekicks. On 9, they are smaller with sidekicks. 10-12 they are medium sized with sidekicks. By late 1943, we get the full sized heroes on All Select 1-2. Then they are medium the rest of that run. So if someone prefers just the trio in larger format, the AW7, AS1-2 are prime examples
  7. Torch 2(3) - Dec 1940 would be the earliest Timely that has all three characters in some print form capacity (Cap 1 ad, Torch/Subby cover and interior stories). I don’t think there was a Cap ad of any sort in Marvel Mystery 15 or 16. All Winners 1 was the first cover with all three heroes (plus sidekicks). All Winners 7 is one of the better covers for sure and are highly desired by Timely enthusiasts.
  8. Are you asking about interior ads, panels, or covers- or all? I know that All Winners 7 was the 1st Schomburg war cover to show the big Timely 3 heroes (without any sidekicks).
  9. Stan does mention “Steve Rogers” in that second to last panel. He’s still stuck in the ice Johnny lol. That first big panel of Cap is the best in the whole story. Ok, despite this not being the real Steve Rogers Cap, what I’ve learned that’s key in this book is: ✅1st Kirby drawn Cap since Cap 10 (Nov, 1941) (22 years ago) ✅1st time Kirby drew Cap apart from Joe Simon ✅1st mention of Steve Rogers in the Silver Age since the Atlas issues of Young Men on the early 1950s It’s always been interesting that Cap’s shorts are a shade of blue but red on all the interior panels. Not sure if Goodman told Stan he wanted it this way since this was an imposter, or it was a colorist error. Cool book nonetheless. The inker was Ayers and I believe this was the only Kirby/Ayers Cap ever done in the SA. All the silver age Cap appearances that were drawn by Kirby were usually inked by Chic Stone, George Roussos, Joe Sinnott, Syd Shores, etc.
  10. Glad you are coming to your senses in part as earlier in this thread you were highly against the “elf eared” Torch cover
  11. The Cajun @Straw-Man has inspired me to post more Timelys Just down to my ‘ole one copy of the 1.
  12. Double deuces of one of my top two Cap covers of all time. @GreatCaesarsGhost
