  1. still no haircut pre SDCC 2019? I guess we are all in need of cuts these days.
  2. yup, they were obvious top tier characters with Marvel Mystery being the flagship title for Goodman til Cap was released..I was just listing the less stellar characters for this thread
  3. Timely had plenty of 3rd, 4th, and 5th tier characters of which these are some of my favorites: Blue Blaze Dynamic Man Moon Man Blazing Skull Black Marvel Red Raven Electro Ka-Zar Masked Raider
  4. Have one trade that was pending, but looks like CV19 may have squashed that deal
  5. Open to trades, especially for X-Men #'s 2-16, 94-109,120-121,129, 266 as some possible examples....
  6. yes, a friend has a 3.0 that he got from Gator long ago. It's Bright red! Daring 4, Marvel Mystery 2,4,5 are the toughest timelys to get RED and not orangey. This was likely due to Goodman switching publishers from New Jersey (Marvel 1 - terrible printing) to 8 Lord St (Buffalo, NY) and finally to Meridan, CT where all the Timelys from Marvel Mystery 7 onward were printed successfully. It's no wonder all the Caps and later Marvel Mysterys have relatively no issues with red deepness.
  7. Cap 3 Good to see it offered here on the boards Rick since there are no conventions for the foreseeable future.
  8. I'd be all over that Daring 4 to upgrade my copy, but my copy's colors are about the same. I want deeper reds Otherwise, Parker has a very nice looking copy of a pretty tough book that is rarely offered. The glue doesn't bother me one bit at this stage in the game.
  9. Final book.... Jumbo Comics #159 CGC 2.5 Slightly Brittle pages. This copy is one of the best looking 2.5’s you will ever see of arguably one of the best covers of the run. The pages are supple and mostly off white all the way to the spine. 2/3rd book length has a spine split. The color and wear to this book outside the spine are otherwise comparable to the 7.5 Mile High copy. Presents very cleanly in a brand new slab. Asking $275 $245 $225 $200
  10. Whiz Comics 18 CGC 3.5 Cream/OW. Book presents very well. Colors are still rich. Major issues are spine split from top corner to upper staple and a smaller split at bottom corner. The best of all the vintage Captain Marvel covers Asking $1250 $1175 $1125 $1100 $1050 $1025 $925
  11. Sugar and Spike #1 CGC 2.0 OW pages Structurally probably a 3.0 copy that suffers from faint water staining to the lower half of the front and some of the back cover and some image loss to the lower right corner. Purples at the banner are still deep and reds are still bright. Great beginner’s copy of one of the rarest silver age books out there. A 2.0 with more extensive general cover wear sold in an auction for over $1k, and a 5.5 recently sold for $3500. Asking $1000 $925 $900 $875 $800 $775 $750
  12. Four Color #386 CGC 5.0 OW to W Presents beautifully. Very bright colors. Stain and small material pull on back cover keep it down. Looks way better than 5.0. looks 6.0+ SOLD to bounty_coder
