My favorite late number Human Torch cover.
-
This was the first Timely I ever bought mail order. The American Comic Book Co. had it listed in a CBG ad in '76. I had just read the Steranko History of Comics so the cover was familiar to me. I had to come up with $40 quick. Yards got mowed, cars got washed, and a comic was sent through the mail. Still looks nice after all these years!

Okay Boys and Girls.....I got some books in today. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoyed opening the CGC package. Kinda like Christmas morning...
So, without further adoooooooo...........

Beautiful All Stars BZ. It is interesting to me that back in the day, you had to have a set of All Star Comics to be considered a TRUE collector. That was the badge that allowed you acceptance into the club. Now All Star is rarely talked about (other that #3 and #8). Every dog has its day, and I am sure opinion will turn and people will gravitate back to these. We sell the heck out of the Archive reprints. There really aren't many titles that are as packed with good stories.

Scrooge,
Nice avatar! I feel like I have seen it recently...like at the top of this page.
Good choice.

Just in from CGC.......
This particular copy has been pressed so flat that what you are actually
looking at is the inside back cover. CGC usually places two pieces of
microchamber paper inside each book they grade. Not here. Wouldn't fit.
If you try to look at it from the side it disappears!
(Hey, anti-pressing guys...that is sarcasm! But I did disclose....)
Cool!!
Is that the copy I owned for a day or two back in the mid 90's?
Maybe? I got this in trade from Dan Greenhalgh in '95 or so. I think many folks
had a go with it before it finally found a home. Nobody wanted it because, at some point,
it was determined that the cover was cleaned and therefore worthless. Then it was like a hot potato!
I just don't understand that mentality now, but for a while many of us bought into it.

Thanks all. Like I said, I was pretty happy pulling this one outta the box.
I think I said, "YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
i want to know why it's only a 9.0. i'll check it out REAL good in about 6 days.
Cause of that time you took it out of the mylar, and........................
no one was in the room with me when that happ.., i mean, i don't know what you're talking about.
you obviously were oblivious to the hidden camera!
So am I! Hey, you were the one who told me about Billy!
WAITAMINUTE!!!!!!!!! WHAT ELSE DO YOU KNOW???
let's put it this way, I would go wash your hands right about now, if I was you!
So, you can see the low grade, roach infested box of '90's comics this guy is trying to pawn off on me here at the store?

cleaned and pressed, like a 3 piece armani... (sorry, can't help myself)
gator
Its nicer than a Hot Tub full of strippers. Which is pretty nice, if I can remember that far back into my single days.
err, I might take the hot tub and strippers...I have been married from 15+ years, but some things never go out of style!
gator
I just talked to your wife. I can't wait for that Batman run to get here! And what a deal. Thank you Mrs. Gator.
hey, wait just one minute....she told me she traded you the funny stuff run!?
So you get to go into a hot tub full of strippers, and your wife would only make you give up a run of Funny Stuff? Man, why do you even have those books any more?

In the same package....
A little disappointed in the grade, but I bought this book over thirty years ago (it was my first Golden Age key!) so I don't think I will be hurt financially. It should make us painfully aware that Restoration (in all its forms) has been around since the first comic was bought off the stands with a bent spine. Are the Angel stories reprinted in the Sub-Mariner Archives HC from Marvel? Cause the Angel story in here is way better than the Subby stories.

Also just in.....
I kinda like it.

hey tarzan geek, i heard MrBedrock has been treating you just like he treats all his customers. don't know that i'd call it a 'treat,' tho'.
Hey Parker, you couldn't possibly be referring to the fact that I often get "the raw end of the stick" in my dealings with MrBedrock, could you?
more like the 'short end,' huh?
I really don't find this line of conversation very amusing.....

This just in from CGC. My favorite non-Timely comic of all.
We all got to see a copy recently from
Bangzoom's collection. This is my humble offering........
And now, for your viewing pleasure, the back cover......
Almost too bizarre for words. These images are all for a serial called
"The Lost City" which is adapted inside. See the serial...Read the comic!
(OOPS..it's slabbed. Well, then find your own!)
Cover to Cover...the best comic ever printed...IMHO.

Here's a little something for the Tarzan fans in the group.
That's just AWESOME!!!
Thanks so much for sharing ...

Actually, it is a special "treatment" reserved for a special client!

Thanks! I feel like I got to cut in line. You are A-OK! And you picked one of the toughest, and one of my favorites. Thanks again

I am curious how people got in touch with you? There is no address or phone number.
I think he "whited it out" in his scan.
Well I'll be darned! I think you are right. How could I ever have missed that? Gosh, thanks for the keen eye.
Show me your Timely's and I'll show you mine. Have a Cigar...
