  1. I really enjoy prelims to see the creative process at work and enjoyed viewing the Bolland Camelot 3000 pieces above - lovely stuff! This would have to be one of my fave prelims which I purchased from Adam Hughes some years back:
  2. Thanks for commenting on the Brooks Shanna I consider Mark's con sketch rates very reasonable but it's pretty tough picking something up from him because he is in high demand and he cherry-picks from his sketch list. I missed out a couple of times before achieving success at SDCC
  3. Sweet Black Cat by Billy Tucci - congrats! Meanwhile, here are some new Shanna the She-Devil additions to my Shanna collection obtained at SDCC including: Mark Brooks Shanna Stanley "Artgerm" Lau Shanna Franchesco Shanna
  4. Deja vu as I just contributed to the same topic on another board My first experience in realising that it was possible to purchase originals by my fave comics artists occurred when I went into a Sydney comic shop called "The Land Beyond Beyond" in 1988 and sighted 2 framed pages on the wall for sale! One was a Marshall Rogers Daughters of the Dragon splash page from Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu which I agonised over before finally making the purchase - after all it was $150.00 back in 1988! Here's the page which is still in my collection many years later:
  5. Thanks Malvin, glad you enjoyed checking out the new addition Warm regards, Royd
  6. Very pleased indeed with the result of my request for a Shanna the She-Devil (& Zabu) commission from Carlos Pacheco! Hope you enjoy checking it out! Big thanks to Carlos and to his art dealer, Miguel CAF link to the piece - http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=988140
  7. Just picked up my first acquisition for 2013 in the shape of a fabulous page from All New X-men (#2, page 13) by Stuart Immonen and Wade von Grawbadger whom I consider a wonderful combination of stellar talents! Hope you enjoy checking it out The page features Wolverine leaping out at the younger, time-displaced versions of Jean and Scott: You can see a better scan here - http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=972092&GSub=159 Best, Royd
  8. Not sure if I've mentioned these pages before but I've searched for both for quite a few years now and done all the usual things (searched CAF, contacted dealers who handled the artist's work etc.) without success. First up is a Marshall Rogers Daughters of the Dragon frontispiece from Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu #33 - I have the matching Daughters of the Dragon frontispiece splash from Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu #32 but would love the second one if possible. Here's a pic of the first one - http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=31795&GSub=65022 The second piece is from the Wolverine Nick Fury: Scorpio Connection illustrated by Howard Chaykin - This has personal significance to me and I'd love to find it but no luck after many years of searching. Maybe one day........ Best, Royd
  9. One of my most recent commissions is one of my all-time favourites as it's by industry legend Joe Kubert and features Enemy Ace, the Hammer from Hell! Hopefully, I did this right and you can see the image but if you can't see it, I've included a link as well - http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=660301&GSub=101531 Best, Royd http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=111

  11. This week, I was thrilled to add a Hitchy Captain America: Reborn #1 panel page featuring a flashback scene of Cap's assassination. 12. I only have occasional opportunities to "announce" art acquisitions so I'm very pleased to mention the arrival this week of an awesome title splash by Howard Chaykin from American Flagg #23, page 6! You can see the piece here - http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=491268&GSub=65065 I'm delighted with the page and would like to thank long-distance mate, Felix Lu for parting with it!
