  1. keep (I'm holding onto mine), I think that character will be used.. it's a key that holds weight on it's own even if he's not used, so I think it's better to just hold onto it.. it's also one of those books that holds weight just because ppl like to speculate on it too
  2. love it.. really underrated.. BIG key book back then.. awesome movie
  3. Oct 14, 19.. Such a cold early morning at the flea. I had to ask a vendor friend if I could borrow a jacket he was selling.. $65 total.. majority were 2 for $5... This dealer circles around various swap meets but has yet to come back around... A friend told me he sold Giant Size X-Men 1 and X-Men 10 both for $40 at the flea he goes to.. and I believe him haha
  4. 8-17-19 ... :') This one takes me back... Whenever I see comics it reminds me of where or what I was doing in that time in my life.. I was in good spirits that Friday night... so on an early Saturday morning after having came home like 2am the morning of I went to a yard sale that one of my close by neighbors was having.. I bought from his wife as well who was selling skate tees.. she was a very tough negotiator.. I love families where everyone is selling something... His daughter was even selling me spliff ....I also bought vintage batman shirts and knick knacks from the guy seller... Spent $120 total with him ... He also told me about a local store closing sale. I went to that after a second yard sale- also very close by to me... there I spent $25 total.. everything from the store cost me $40.. all 3 back to back in one day
  5. payment/paypal system error.. or accidental .. that's always the best excuse
  6. Oct 25 19.. Going through my computer bullshtn.. I decide to check if there's any sales on a Friday morning and I see there's one starting in 30mins but I have to get ready and drive so by the time I arrive I'd be 15-20 mins late. I still went and missed out on huge Golden Age Archie key I saw... Luckily there is a mega thrift store in the area and comics aside I had a great clothes haul.. not bad for $5..
  7. I pick my targets very carefully and I study them so they don't waste my time.. I'd say very little are busts.. maybe 80-90% success rate in "scoring" ... that's by choosing the sales to go to very carefully and betting on risks..and being first or at least one of the firsts.. I rarely go to sales unless it's so obvious by the quality shown in the pics or the excessive quality in the description. It's hard to pass on "50,000 comics in boxes" even if there are no pics
  8. 8.3.19 I went to a sale very early in the am in a far away county. The pics showed several short boxes (maybe 20-30).. I was the first to look through them all and nothing but absolute 90s fodder dreck at it's worst ... The sad part is when sellers are actually dealers who try to trick people into showing up at their sales with the way they showcase their offerings. So I hit up another sale and the timing was just right.. this seller had set up in his driveway and I was just there right around the time it started and I was first to look thru the comics.. then another guy showed up 15-20 mins later but by then I had snagged all the best books for $100. The owner told me the MP15 was missing the MVS and he literally quoted me a $1 for it so I was happy. Found those SDCC advance previews at a sale I went to after for a buck each.
  9. March 4, 2019 Just a $20 original owner flea haul. I was there hours after initial set up. The individual I bought these from said he'd be back every 3 months or so. Unfortunately I've never seen him since.
  10. 50,000 additional free listings with a store subscription also till end of July
  11. Me too.. mad underrated... especially on the important X-Men and Batman runs.. one of the best the past 20 years. super gorgeous pencils
  12. oh Sgt. Rock ... I saw an old back issue mixed in his boxes and he said that belonged to his dad so he had to keep that one!
  13. Found this in my collection remember buying it off the stand the Wednesday it released... nice Campbell wraparound
  14. Nov 17, 18 I'm scanning the type of offerings at this yard sale and I see a lot of recent release DC comics and some new DC t shirts some with Sgt Rock on them. I ask how much the comics are and I'm told 10 cents each! I'm getting the sense the seller might be someone special.. I know I've seen that face somewhere before. Once I mentioned his name he told me to take all his comics free of charge! It was Andy Kubert's yard sale! He didn't let me leave without signing his Giant Size Superman!
  15. I'd also add Alpha Flight 51 1st Jim Lee Marvel Art & Daredevil 254, 270 1st Typhoid Mary & Blackheart
  16. There's always a little boost w that 5% but it's mainly for lower priced items to sell that buyers were on the fence on.... this stay at home order has been a blessing in disguise for me as sells have literally never been better across the board
  17. 9/8/18 Paid $30 for this copper age estate sale haul.. always nice to buy Thrasher and Pushead two things you usually don't find in the comics area
  18. Couple years ago before the taxes hit in October eBucks bonus promos were usually 10% or 8% ...... there even used to be 15% off purchases also... those days are sadly gone :'( 5% is nothing.. nothing
  19. 4-14-18 I'm parked in my car waiting.. then I see other ppl around the area waiting for this yard sale to start.. the dead time leading up to sales always gives me anxiety.. this sale advertised silver age comics... no pics.. but the promise of silver age issues is decent enough for me to go.. as 30 mins approaches the start time no one on the block is setting up.. as 20, 15, 10, 5 mins lead up till the sale there are still no signs of life at this supposed "yard sale".. It's already 10-15 mins past the advertised time and no one from inside is coming out so one-by-one guys start leaving... I already came this far and waited so long that I figured waiting 30 mins past the start time was my max.... I circle around again as the last guy leaves (everyone was there for the comics)... It's time to leave... As I'm walking around the sidewalk corner I hear a loud bang noise! I see two cars that had collided abruptly in the street....The driver was furious that this woman had hit his car.. It was crazy to see one car swirl directions in real time.. One of the neighbors who hears the accident walks out so I tell her I'm here for a yard sale.. (lol at this point)... She exclaims (luckily) that she knew the couple who were holding the sale... (this is like 40-45 mins past the start time).. So I go inside the small apartment kitchen and see boxes of SA comics on the dinner table... In hindsight I was about getting a deal.. and should have bought the entire collection offering for $250 more but for $150 I don't think I did too bad
  20. I find myself regretting those "do I really need these?" purchases... they never seem to be worth it in the long run...
  21. A rainy 3.3.18 Paid $100 for around 100 GA comics.. anytime you're paying $1 a book for Fiction House is good
  22. X-Men 4 is selling pretty well... I'm noticing more now than ever that ppl really enjoy Jim Lee's 1990 X-Men run and many of his back issues like Alpha Flight 51 are selling well... He's selling off monster sketches on ebay every single day and I think it somehow is driving demand for his key issues
