  1. Spidey Vs The Sin Eater (Spec Spiday 107?-110?). Or Spidey Vs Kraven and Vermin, as told through all 3 titles for 2 months in the 80's. Of course with Daredevil, I am praying they do the Typhoid Mary original run, where he meets her, falls in love with her, and then she stomps on his heart. Too good not to see on TV! Jay
  2. 100% agree, TV show was better than any Terminator movie they've put out this century! Jay
  3. And I know so many of us were there, and it was hard to report sales on Valiants because 'at the time' the books were super scarce! But I witnessed multiple sales over $100 for Harbinger 1 for sure, among many others. The hype and flash was all with Image, Valiant WAS selling for big money. However those were low printed books (in comparison to other books of the period). The mistake Wizard made (and perhaps Valiant now knowing companies were paying to be on the hot list), was to continue to push books that had a million print run or more. There was no way the hobby could sustain that, and we all remember what happened soon thereafter! Jay
  4. keefriffhard4444 Emailed me about a month ago talking about indents on a CGC 9.8? O.K, no prob, I told him you don't like it, please send it back. Today I get a neutral (guess I should be thankful). But please look at the last few feedbacks he left, obviously a pattern. Finding things that aren't there... Jay
  5. We can criticize this until we're blue in the face. Fact is, it's their money, they're going to do this first, and I for one think it's a great idea. I don't watch Youtube for anything other than occasionally I'll put it on to listen to music. I can't tell you how many of those beat downs I've seen just by going on Facebook and having others post them. It's not stuff I go out and look for, but they're always somewhere I happen to be. I'm absolutely positive that for a hundred million there was some research involved. Jay
  6. I'll second that. However, I think I'm more excited about the Punisher series than season 3, because as for me The Hand and Elektra were the weaker parts of the show. Now all we gotta do is get Jason Aaron writing scripts for a Kingpin spin-off! That would be epic! Jay
  7. IMO this is their way of introducing the characters to the general public. The general public has NO idea who Rai, or Bloodshot, or Shadowman is. There is no way someone spends ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS to make Youtube videos. I think someone at the top got cold feet and wanted to make sure these characters had some back-story before actual movies are made. Yep, they'll be pushed back for sure, but they're still comin! Jay
  8. Jayna was my crush for probably 2 years (I mean, I was 7-8)! Definitely not made up! She was HOT! Jay
  9. SPOILER BELOW!!! My guess is no, since the plant he owned was never in town. I'm also guessing the sheriff happened to be out of city limits when it happened. Everybody else though...SEE YA! Jay
  10. I said I'd post some strange ones, so here are a few with neat cover prices;
  11. According to Doug Sulipa's website, there were Canadian DC newsstand variants published until September 1988. The last Batman issue with one was 423. Based on what I have seen, Doug's post is correct. There are some 1988 DCs with funky cover prices above $1.00 that are harder to find. Like the 1.60 price tag on Funny Stuff, 2.10 on Batman 400 and I've seen some with 1.35. I think "Last Days of the Juctice Society" had a 3.50 price tag. I have to look, but I'm sure I have $1.65 as a cover price as well, can't remember the books. I'll try to get up scans or pics. Jay
  12. This show is on the bubble for me. I thought about dropping it after tonight's episode, though I'm interested enough in what happens to Eugene to come back. Eugene and Cassidy are the only two characters that are at all interesting to me. Since there's only ten (?) episodes this season, I may just see it through to the end, but, unless it gets meaningfully better from here, I'd say it's probable that I'll drop out after that. I agree w you. It's starting to annoy me. For 50 something issues, the 3 of them were 'partners', if you will, and then their friendship starts to deteriorate after you've really gotten to know them. The TV series is having their relationship deteriorate almost immediately while knowing little to nothing about them. Except that Jessie is stubborn and stupid, Cassidy is into drugs and Tulip about not doing enough crime.... My guess is they wanted to cram as much into season 1 as possible in case they didn't get a season 2 and I'm hopeful it'll get back on track when they actually start searching for God....but is that actually going to be a plot device now since every character they run into along the way seems to reside in Anneville? The producers have gone on record many times and said this is a set up for issue 1 of the comic. Season two will basically start at issue 1. They felt there were holes there that wouldn't be understood, so they added this. Something big is coming, there is no doubt, and I have totally put my faith in these guys to get it right. I love it regardless. Jay
  13. That 9th inning was a big deal at the TCBS today, me and 5 other guys waiting with baited breathe on each pitch update on my Samsung. Jason Grilli closing, WTH??? Glad to see we hung on, and glad I didn't get to watch it. I would have thrown at least 2 beer bottles at my TV had I been home! Then my wife would have kicked me out. Then I'd be divorced. I really shouldn't watch the Jays anymore. Jay
  14. Krighton I am absolutely not trying to be a , but you MUST have 100 copies of this book, because if there is an Outcast post, you've made it. So spill the beans, what are you sitting on? I have 4 9.8, 3 CGC and 1 the other guys. Jay
  15. Problem is guys again, I'm talking first appearances of characters that aren't cast or aren't on for season 1? If the show is anywhere near decent, I still think there is a market for those down the line to increase in value as they are cast. You're right that selling 42 might be now, or even issue 1. But take $100 in 9.8 for #8 before Jody and T.C give America nightmares for the next 3 years. Not me. Jay
  16. I think we're still in full 'hold' mode. I mean only Quincannon has been cast, and nobody has seen him yet (in the show, yelling at people, having fun with meat, hanging out with the KKK). What about Herr Star? The Allfather? The Chunt Brothers? And of course, my two faves, Jody and T.C? I think if it's a success #1 can keep going up (and full disclosure I have ZERO copies of #1). Why sell them before 99% of the people who are going to watch this show know who they are? (and don't kid yourself by telling me most of the people watching Walking Dead read the comic, because that's CR#P. The book sells 125,000 an issue and 10 mil watch the show). It's the same thing here. Although we know who these people are, nobody else does. Jay
  17. Ohh wow that was awesome! I can't remember a show I was this looking foward to since I was a much younger man! I know everybody wants to say bad things about Rogan, but he genuinely loves this like any of us who grew up with it. I think it's in safe hands. Everything I've seen looks fantastic and I especially can't wait to see Cassidy!
  18. It is because the pence symbol is so lame compared to a $ sign. The print run on the CDN newsstand edition is likely lower than the UK pence copies as the population of Canada was ~50% of the UK (still is), but I am not certain. I think I posted before that comic sales to Canada were likely 10% of what they were in the USA. Earlier newsstand variants should be easier to find as the newsstand print runs were probably in the 40% of total distribution range. The later $0.95 or $1.00 and up cover prices are the ones to get in high grade as the newsstand print runs had dropped significantly by then. Canadian books are definitely harder to find, but my issue is that these superheroes are U.S.A. superheroes (brainstormed, born, and bred), and the comics they appeared inside are for the big ole U.S.A. market. The books sent outside the border were "U.S.A. books for foreigners", which we didn't want in the first place, so I don't know why we'd want them back. I don't see any need to be a 100% USDA U.S.A. boy and spend my hard earned sawbucks on books what ya reckon was just made in the first place for all the dern foreigners. Now, before anyone accuses me of only being xenophobic, I'll just point out that I'm already a better CGC collectin' Canadian than all of you... because Canada's greatest hero is Wolverine, and Canada's first Canadian appearance of Wolverine was in a CGC graded Canadian book that I have... and every one of you don't. Canadian headline: USA boy wins Canada CGC comic competition with single book. 'Murican Mic Drop. Don't you DARE forget about Alpha Flight!!!! Jay
  19. Yes, Punisher Vs The Marvel Universe, came out in 2012 I believe. Really an awesome story-line, the typical cocky Tony Stark who figures bringing down a civilian, even a civilian named Frank Castle, isn't worth his time. The fun ensues from there...
  20. Ha, I kept all those when they came out! Love those gift tags! Jay
  21. I'd still say it's gotta be # 1, followed closely by 21 and 155. For reading enjoyment though, 26 + 27 are hard to beat, but also 93-95, 144, and of course 107-111 where the Saw Viper murders many Joes, is a good run as well. You'd have to combine with issues of Special Missions, but the storyline that runs through (I believe, can't remember exact issues), 59-64 with some Special Missions issues might be the best run of the entire series. In a nutshell, Stalker, Snow Job, and others go on a secret mission to an foreign city, and are captured. Only one escapes, and because he left his boys (which was what he was commanded to do by a higher ranking solider [trying not to give spoilers], he's ostracized. It really is a great read! Jay
  22. OMG, James Franco as T.C!!! Nah, too close to real life! Jay
  23. Seriously that is awesome! I had no idea Will Smith just ripped that right off! Forget about her Grammy, where is her MONEY??? (remember the family of Marvin Gaye getting all of that money for the Blurred Line song)? Jay
  24. Was only 3 in 75 so didn't get to go, however I DID get to see Jaws 3 in 3-D at the theatre ()!!! What amazes me to this day is that Jaws, The Exorcist and The Godfather were released within 3 years of each other, then of course Star Wars less than 2 years after Jaws. So within a 5 year span, we got 4 epic films. I've always tried to look back and see if there was ever an equal 5 year period in film history and to me, it doesn't exist. That was the beginning of what we would come to know as the blockbuster and Jaws was smack dab in the middle of it. I can see 1960-63 as a magical time to have been born, to get to see all of these films and actually remember the experiences. And as for Robert Shaw, he was something like the 4th pick to be Quint, but watching the film, although the others are great as well, he really makes it work. Lee Marvin was the guy they wanted--I just can't see it! Jay
